About the home

Dolphin 2 is a spacious apartment just 30 seconds from Calis beach and all the facilities on site at Sunset Beach Club. The gentle lapping of the waves on the beach in the morning, sipping cold drinks by one of the four large pools, eating a delicious meal at the onsite restaurant while watching the sun set across the bay, strolling along Calis Beach promenade and sampling the many bars and restaurants, hopping on the water taxis to go across the bay to the cosmopolitan harbour town of Fethiye or just lazing about on Dolphin 2's large wrap around balcony or top floor roof terrace.... all these activities make Dolphin 2 a magical place to spend a week or two in the sun to completely chill out, relax and completely recharge those batteries!

Facilities

All the bedrooms have very comfortable beds & ample storage. The top floor master bedroom has a bathroom right next to it and double patio doors leading on to a private roof terrace with breathtaking views. The two other bedrooms are large with an ensuite to one and a family bathroom next door to the other.

The well equipped, large open plan kitchen/living room opens onto the large wrap around balcony where you can eat meals while looking across the main pool, out across Calis beach and the Mediterranean sea beyond.

Dolphin 2 is the largest of the eight apartments in the Dolphin block which is the right at teh front of the complex and right next to the beach and main pool.

The large wrap around balcony is in the perfect position to get the sun first thing in the morning but not in the afternoon when the shade will be very welcome in the heat of the summer sun. If you do want the sun all day then retire to the private roof terrace accessed via the top floor master bedroom or stroll down to the main pool where there is waiter service right to your sun lounger.

Wifi is available around the main pool for small daily charge.

Regardless of when you arrive at Sunset Beach there will always be someone to greet you, either the reception staff or one of the 24 hour security team.

If you need a transfer from Dalaman airport or you want to hire a car, either or both of these services can be requested. After a long journey you need a view essentials to keep you going. All parties will receive a welcome pack with the following items:

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

The Turquoise Coast is the first place to think of when you're considering a seaside vacation in Turkey. It has more and better beaches and resorts than does the Aegean coast, and warmer, saltier water than the Black Sea coast.
Turkey's Mediterranean shore, called the Turquoise Coast, is nearly 1600 km (994 miles) long, scattered with fine-sand beaches and sprinkled abundantly with classical cities turned to picturesque ruins.

The Taurus (Toros) Mountains form a dramatic backdrop along much of the coast, often dropping steeply right into the sea, but in some places rivers have washed down enough sediment over the ages to form beaches backed by fertile alluvial plains good for growing cotton, vegetables, and even tropical fruits like bananas.

The Fethiye / Calis Beach area

Calis Beach is now a very popular holiday resort on Turkey's "turquoise coast" - and the crystal clear deep blue seas explain that name easily. But for Calis, it is not so easy as "Calis" means work in Turkish and that reveals a little of it's history. It hasn't always been a holiday destination - Calis Beach was "Work beach" where a small railway ran across the beach to the jetty (where Sat Restaurant now is at the far south end of the beach) with loads of chromium, mined inland. The pedestrianised Calis promenade is the place to watch the simply stunning Calis sunsets.Those days are well in the past now and the only work done on Calis Beach nowadays is applying the sun cream - Calis is reported to have around 300 days of sun each year - and the beach is lined almost from end to end with restaurants serving superb Turkish cuisine and international favourites.

Calis is actually part of Fethiye, who's centre lies to the south side of Fethiye bay, while Calis sits on the east side. Fethiye is an excellent place to visit - there are plenty of reasons - the narrow lanes of the Paspatur (known as the "old town") with it's restaurants, bars and souvenier and gold shops, but actually getting there can be a lovely experience on the Calis water taxis that leave the canal just behind the seafront. Water taxis leave every half hour but don't believe the advertised "on the hour and half hour" - this is Turkey and it never is! To use the Calis water taxi service simply go to the kiosk and purchase your tickets (single or return) and once the boat is docked you will be ushered on. It's a very laid back and enjoyable experience. In fact, if time is on your side it is the only way to travel!
