The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
This apartment is located on exclusive holiday complex wonderfully situated right on the Calis Beach seafront with its own private stretch of beach.
Calis Beach is famous for its spectacular sunsets, cooling afternoon breezes and the beautiful long beach of sand and shingle. The surrounding region is stunning with tranquil bays, rugged coastline dotted with many islands, dramatic mountains, romantic coves, and exquisite beaches.
Fethiye is one of Turkey's well-known tourist centres and is especially popular during the summer. In the last ten years Fethiye has become a magnet for British citizens. Apart from its climate and natural beauty, the Britons are attracted by its less expensive lifestyle and the hospitality of the local people.
Fethiye is a tourist town with an international atmosphere. It has an excellent marina and good night life. The town also serves as an excellent base for touring the inland country-side, and is probably the only city in the world where you'll find sarcophagus in the streets. These pre-Roman Lycian relics are especially spectacular when floodlit at night. The town has a population of around 50,000 but the population increases dramatically during the high season, from April to end of October, when off-shore residents spend their summers at their second homes.
Fethiye - Öludeniz was chosen as the best tourism centre in the world by The Times and The Guardian newspapers. The Fethiye Museum, which is very rich in ancient and more recent artifacts, displays and testifies to the successive chain of civilizations that existed in the area, starting with the ancient Lycians.
The nearest airports served by international airlines are at Antalya or Dalaman. Antalya is about three hours driving and Dalaman about one hour from Fethiye.
The nearest large town of Fethiye is only 4km along the coast. It takes only 10 minutes by dolmus (local bus) and 15 minutes by boat-taxi. The lively market town of Fethiye with its traditional bazaar, marina, charming restaurants, great shops and nightlife can be easily reached by water taxi, minibus, and bike or by car.
Fethiye provides one of Turkey's main scuba diving locations and caters for all types of divers. There are many boat trips from its marina to places such as The Twelve Islands; Oludeniz with its famous beach and paragliding facilities 16 km away; Gocek with its marina and market about 20 km away and the beautiful Greek Island of Rhodes 50 minutes away on hydrofoil. Other nearby attractions includes Jeep safaris, horse riding, many UNESCO sites, Saklikent Gorge & the ghost town of Kayakoy to mention just a few.
