Seahorse 2 is a spacious 3 bedroom, fully air-conditioned, duplex apartment at the beachfront Sunset Beach Club complex. This apartment is a good size and is really flexible making it a perfect choice for either a family or 2 families wanting to travel together. Several generations of the same family can even be accommodated together here in 1 apartment (eg grandparents, parents and 2 children). It is also a good option for 2 or 3 couples wanting to holiday together. Instead of renting 2 apartments you can split the cost between you and stay together making this a great value for money option.

It has been commented on that this apartment enjoys one of the best positions on the complex. When you stay here, you can sit on your own balcony with breakfast in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening and admire the spectacular views of the beach, sea and the pool area as it is a corner apartment with a fabulous outlook. As it is well located in the 2nd block back from the seafront, this means that it is set back slightly away from the main poolside bar and front complex entrance whilst still only being minutes away from all the excellent on-site facilities.

Being a duplex apartment, the layout is designed over 2 floors which offers more privacy so feels more like a house than an apartment. On one floor is the well-equipped, open plan lounge/ dining area/ kitchen, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom and the downstairs bathroom. The master bedroom is upstairs with the bonus of having its own small private terrace with 2 sun loungers and en-suite bathroom. Each bedroom is furnished with wardrobes, drawers and bedside lamp(s). The downstairs family bathroom has a wc, shower and basin. A travel cot and highchair can be hired if you are travelling with young children.

This apartment has a lovely lounge with 2 sofas (seating up to 7). There is basic satellite TV (flat screen) featuring some English, Turkish and European channels but we also recommend that you bring your favourite DVDs to watch. There is a I-Pod dock and complex Wi-Fi internet is available for internet browsing/ emails (please bring your own laptop/ devices), a small charge may apply. There are also many restaurants and bars in Calis (such as nearby Guven's) that will let you use their Wi-Fi service when buying a drink or meal.

The kitchen has everything you need for a self catering holiday (oven/ hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher) plus cutlery, crockery, pans etc. There is even a water cooler machine and the first water bottle for this is provide FREE of charge. A welcome grocery pack can be ordered for your arrival which is very useful if arriving at night time. There is a utility room with washing machine, clothes airer, vacuum and other cleaning equipment such as mop & bucket, brushes etc. Please note that this a NO SMOKING apartment.

All windows are fitted with mosquito screens so you can open the windows and benefit from any breeze, plus there are 2 floor standing fan and a table top fan which you can move around the apartment as well as air-conditioning throughout.

The Sunset Beach Club has everything you could be looking for a great beach/ pool holiday. As well as 5 outdoor pools, 3 kids splash pools, there is a Wellness Centre which offers a sauna, hamman (Turkish bath) and treatments (local charges apply for these services). There is even a small on-site shop for essential items, a friendly poolside bar and lovely restaurant/ snack bar. Please note the communal facilities are seasonal and are usually available between early April - end of October each year.

For peace of mind during your stay, there is 24 hour security on site. Emergency contact numbers and emergency mobile phone are supplied so you can contact the local management or owners if necessary whilst on holiday. We also provide a GUEST MANUAL at the apartment, full of ideas of where to eat, where to shop and what there is to do in the area to get your holiday off to a great start.

Please note that the CHANGEOVER day is FLEXIBLE to accommodate the different flying days from the UK and other countries. We have a standard check-in time of 4pm and check-out of 12 noon. When possible, we will try to be flexible around your flight times (subject to other bookings).

This complex offers an enviable beachfront location which means you can enjoy both beach and pool fun when staying here. You only need to take a few steps over the promenade and you are on Koca Calis Beach. Being so close to the beach means that you can easily pop back to the apartment very quickly if you need anything. The nearby Fethiye Surf Club offers everything you could imagine including windsurfing, waterskiing, jet-skiing, parasailing, scuba diving, kitesurfing and wakeboarding.

A short 10 minute stroll brings you onto the main Calis Beach promenade, and its bars and restaurants, and also to the Dolmus station so you can get about very easily using public transport to get to Calis centre or explore the local area. Many dolmus buses now conveniently stop outside the front of Sunset Beach. There are lots of excursions companies along the seafront offering a wide range of day trips.

When you are ready for some activities, there are lots of watersports available just a few minutes walk away at the nearby Fethiye Surf Club. There are several nice, local restaurants close to the Sunset Beach club and a short 10 minute stroll brings you onto the main Calis Beach promenade with its laid-back bars and many restaurants. The surrounding area of Fethiye, Hisaronu and Olu Deniz can all be reached by local public bus transport system (called the 'dolmus') which means that NO CAR HIRE is required when staying here. The dolmus now stops close to the complex so it is very easy to get around the local area. I can also assist with airport transfer arrangements.

I rent another 2 apartments at Sunset Beach (2 x 2 bedroom apartments), please ask for details and availability if you are travelling with friends wanting separate accommodation or in case the dates for this apartment are already booked as one of the other apartments may be available instead.

I may also have access to other apartments on this complex if Seahorse 2 is already booked (through the property manager in Turkey). Please contact us with your holiday dates and we can try to help you find alternative accommodation.

Please feel free to get in touch to ask anything about the apartment, area or things to do. We are happy to answer any questions which you may have to help you make your holiday decision.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

This is a wonderful part of Turkey with dramatic mountain scenery, breathtaking sea views, sparkling clear waters and stunning sunsets (see our photo gallery for pictures of the area). You'll be spolit for choice for things to do in this area. You can combine a relaxing beach holiday with energetic sporting activities from watersports to paragliding, go off exploring ancient ruins and rock tombs or take one of many excursions on offer such as a boat trip or a jeep safari.

Experience the Turkish culture in the bazaar and local market, enjoy the local hospitality and tasty cuisine.. which is second to none! You'll find that the Turkish people are extremely friendly and welcoming, plus the cost of living is still cheaper than the UK and other EU countries (as Turkey is not in the euro zone and still has its own currency, the Turkish Lira) .. which makes your holiday spending money go further!

The climate is wonderful (with approximately 300 sunshine days per year) and temperatures are 30c+ degrees throughout the summer months. May, June and September are lovely months for families with younger children or for people wanting to walk or take part in sporting activities when it is not just as hot ...with temperatures usually between the mid-high 20c degrees.

Fethiye

Calis is located 2.5 miles north of Fethiye and is a laid-back resort with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. It is not a full-on party place with wall-to-wall nightclubs so if you are looking for wild nightlife, then this is not the place for you. However if you enjoy relaxing days with plenty of nice bars and restaurants to choose from, with easy access to Fethiye and the surrounding area.. then this is a great place to stay.

With an amazing 4 km stretch of coastline, you can always find your own peaceful spot on Calis beach. There are plenty of watersports and activities on offer at the nearby Fethiye Surf Club. The beach promenade is a lovely place to stroll along and is lined with shops, travel agencies (offering many excursions), cafes, bars and restaurants offering both Turkish and International cuisine. The local market takes place on Sunday so you can see the locals selling their wares. There is even the Sultan's City waterpark in Calis which is great fun for all the family.

From Calis, you can take the dolmus (local bus) or the leisurely water taxi to Fethiye (don't forget your camera as the views from the water taxis are stunning). Fethiye is a lively working Turkish town so is a great place to see the locals going about their every day lives and offers many restaurants and good shopping around the Old Town bazaar and the impressive marina. The huge market takes place on Tuesday with more than 500 stalls ... definitely the place to barter for all your holiday bargains and a great place to buy fresh produce such as locally grown fruit and vegetables.

At the northern end of Fethiye bay is the harbour of Gocek. The village has grown around the extensive yacht marina and is a great place to visit and watch the rich at play! Just to the south of Fethiye is the popular resort of Olu Deniz with its stunning lagoon and beach... probably one of the worlds most photographed beauty spots. Adrenaline junkies can paraglide from the top of Mount Babadag down onto the beach at Olu Deniz to enjoy the breath-taking scenery. Why not stop off en-route in the hills at Hisaronu or Ovacik for a bite to eat as it is generally cooler up here on hot days.

Other interesting places/ things to do in the area to visit include:

- Climbing up to the Lycian Rock Tombs in Fethiye

- Exploring the ancient ghost village of Kayakoy

- A boat trip around the 12 Islands or to Butterfly Valley

- A jeep safari to Patara Beach

- A day return on the fast ferry from Fethiye - Rhodes, Greece so you can experience 2 countries in 1 holiday!

More excursions which can be organised from Calis include visiting the:

- Mud baths at Dalyan and the ruins of Caunos

- Beautiful gorge of Saklikent and the ruins of Tlos

- Magnificent ancient city and wonders of Ephesus

- The amazing white calcium terraces and mineral waters at Pamukkale

Activities include scuba diving, trekking, kayaking, quad biking, horse riding, bicycle hire .. the list goes on and on so you will never run out of things to do in this area!!

"Paradise"

Our stay in 'seahorse 2' was without a doubt one of the best holidays we've had yet.
The location was ideal as we didn't want to have to hire a car, pretty much everything was on our doorstep. There was a mini mart within the complex which was ideal for picking up basics until we went to the bigger supermarket which had everything you would expect to find back home .
The apartment itself was just beautiful, the photos don't do it justice! spotlessly clean and with everything you could possibly need. The view from our balcony at sunset looking over the sea and mountains, stunning!
The area was lovely and clean and very laid back, and the staff and locals were friendly, especially nice to our little girl!
We had some lazy days by the pool and beach, and also went to the water park, went fishing, camel rides and a 12 island boat trip, all of which were fantastic value for money.
Can honestly say what a smashing holiday we had, pity it wasn't for longer!
Will definitely be back :)

Thank you for taking the time to submit this lovely review. We are delighted that you had such a fantastic holiday experience. Thanks also for pointing out some of the great benefits of the apartment, complex and local area. We would be very happy to welcome you back for a future holiday.

"BRILLIANT HOLIDAY"

We had two fantastic weeks on the Sunset Beach Club complex in apartment Seahorse 2;
would definitely recommend both the complex and apartment. The apartment was excellent, so spacious, clean and well equipped having everything you could possible need, including a dishwasher and water cooler, this was a real bonus having drinking water on tap. The apartment is in a prime position, so whilst on the balcony you can enjoy sea and mountain views in the morning or a relaxing evening with a glass of wine, watching the sunset – wonderful. The complex has several great pools and a bar/restaurant which serves really good food. The promenade is a short walk away where you will find many good restaurants to choose from, or jump on the Dolmus (bus) , which can be picked up right outside the complex and go into Fethiye where again there are many good restaurants, our favourite was the fish market, you buy your fish, pick one of the restaurants where they will cook your fish and serve it with salad and rich for approx. 6TL (£2). We will certainly be booking this apartment again.

Thank you for submitting such a lovely review. I am really pleased that you had a brilliant holiday and enjoyed the apartment, complex and local area. We would be very happy to welcome you back on another holiday.

"Relaxing Holiday Experience"

We returned from Sunset Beach Club in Calis mid-October, where we stayed in “Seahorse 2” Apartment. We were two couples sharing the apartment and were pleased to find we each had our own private facilities on separate levels. The apartment was stylishly equipped and had all mod cons including a/c dishwasher TV. We also had the assistance of the forever smilie Nadine who was always available for advice as to where to visit, eat or car hire etc.

The main balcony overlooking two of the many pools and the beach captured the sunshine from dawn 'til dusk, I could have spent the whole holiday just sitting there. Sunbeds were always available whether it was the beach or the pool. There were many facilities including a Supermarket, Beauty salon, Haman and the essential Bar.

The Dolmus just outside the complex arrive every few minutes to take you to restaurants, Calis town. Water Taxi or Fethiye all for the same price of 2TL – fantastic service.

We ate at many good restaurants, especially Oben's and Casa Di Mamma's – my personal favourites. We also discovered a tiny square with a duck pond where musicians played the beautiful Turkish music you can dance to.

Sunset Beach Club is in a prime location for site seeing, we have stayed in Calis before in Hotels, but I must say the “Seahorse 2” apartment by far excels, and would unhesitatingly recommend it for a relaxing holiday experience.

Thank-you for taking the time to submit this review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and have pointed out some really nice features about this apartment. You have also provided some great tips about the area. We would love to welcome you back again in the future
