The South East Ireland region

Visitors book with all information at house - lots of place & things to do.

Wexford: Welcome to Wexford in the Sunny South East of Ireland. You will find miles and miles of white sand. From Courtown to Curracloe, Rosslare to the Hook. You can go swimming, strolling, windsurfing and kitesurfing. When you’ve dusted off the sand between your toes – check out Hook Lighthouse, one of the oldest in the world. Or take a trip back in time at The Irish National Heritage Park. You’ll find ancient Irish history brought to life in a dramatic and exciting manner. Or go a little further and take a trip out to the Saltee Islands and see wildlife as rich and exotic as the island’s historic tales. And if you want nerve rattling excitement instead, there’s no end to the thrills and adrenalin pumping activities on offer at the High Ropes Course in Gravity Forest Park.

Things to Do:: There is so much to see and do in this area of Ireland that you will definitely have to come back for more. Most watersports are catered for. There is horse riding, cycling, walking too. There are a number of outdoor pursuit centres which the owner can tell you about. Dont also forget that there are so many restaurants to try out some delicious food. There are no end of Irish Pubs in the area where you will be guaranteed lots of 'craic' in the evening time. There are so many beaches in this area - you will probably find a new one for every day of your holiday. Duncannon has a beach where you can bring your car onto the sand. How wonderful to have everything you need with you.

Other Activities: Please check with the owner

The local village of Fethard has everything that you will need for your day to day needs. There is a small supermarket, pharmacy, bistro, pubs, hairdresser and a chinese. Dont also miss out on the saturday local produce market in the village hall. Welllington Bridge has a large supermarket if you wish to stock up. Wexford has an abundance of shopping where you will find the larger supermarkets if you need. Look out too for local farmer stalls along the side of the road selling very fresh farm produce.

"Amazing House!"

We stayed here for 4 days and wished it was a lot longer. This was one of the best vacation rentals we have ever stayed in. Everything was so well appointed and equipped we immediately felt very much … More

"The calm before the 'Christmas Storm'"

Had a lovely break of catching up with friends..little shopping in Wexford but mostly chilling, the big sitting room with stove and candles and fab view is perfect for chatting and long evenings of lounging around. Went to Dunbrody House for a great meal on Saturday night which was a real treat too. did a really nice walk out to the lighthouse sunday morning before facing back to the more manic preparations for Christmas.

"A little bit of heaven"

Wonderful weekend in a fabulous house in a picturesque corner of ireland. Everything was perfect. The moment we set foot in the house it was so tastefully designed and attention to detail was second to none. There was nothing missing and we had to make ourselves leave the house as it was just so comfortable and all you needed for the perfect escape!

"Home away from home"

You're only dilemma if you chose to lodge at this property will be whether to go out or stay in! The location is fantastic with Loftus Hall and Hook lighthouse within walking distance and many other attractions close by. There are also plenty of great places to eat locally. The house itself is so lovely that you may find you don't want to leave it. Beautiful kitchen/dining space equipped with everything you could need,3 comfortable&clean bedrooms (2 double, 1 twin) but the gem is the huge upstairs living room with a landscape view of the sea. We loved every minute of our stay. Hope to go back soon.

"The perfect getaway"

The kavanagh cottage had everything for a great week away. We found it like a home away from home, though we wish our home was this nice!! Views from the living room were great, kitchen had everything we needed, surround sound in the living room was an added bonus! The cottage is close to some great bars, restaurants and we would recommend the lighthouse and loftus hall which are both less than 5 minutes away!

"I don't want to give this a positive review..."

Because I don't want it to be booked next summer when I want to return. Just to add to all the previous reviews - we used the kitchen and bbq and their dishes and pots and pans were all great. Their knives were dull, but I didn't look for a sharpener, and that was really my only complaint. The place was beautiful, the peninsula was great.

"Beautiful and Comfortable"

Staying on Hooks Head was a great pleasure. The house is both beautiful and comfortable. There is a great view from the living room window. The place is beautifully decorated. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bathrooms are very modern and in perfect working order. The bedroom was extremely comfortable. The house is very close to the beach.

Hooks Head is a wonderful part of the Irish coast. It is rocky in places and sandy in others. The lighthouse is one of the oldest in the world and a real treasure.

My entire Hooks Head experience was marvelous!

"This was an immaculate property with every possible home comfort included."

This was a fantastic house. It was very well appointed and was extremely stylish. Everything was immaculate. The owners included a generous welcome pack and lots of useful hits and tips on local ammenities and places to visit further afield.
