Newly restored, Dar Al Waha is a beautiful traditional home that follows the classic Moroccan floor plan. It offers the best in self catering with markets brimming with fresh produce and Moroccan specialities all 3 mins walk from your front door. The Fes region

The Fes region

Fes is the best base from which to explore Northern Morocco. As we are share staff with the sister guesthouse Dar El Hana, we are able to offer you a number of additional services such as transport with a driver to enjoy day trips out to other regions, trips to Volubilis and Meknes, and to Chefchaouen etc; or car hire information is also available, and, the opportunity to enjoy Fatima's home cooking which can be delivered for you to enjoy, perhaps on your terrace, weather permitting.

We also have excellent local Guides to offer, as well as a comprehensive list of great local restaurants and activities, some perhaps not listed in Guide books as yet.

In Summer months of July and August we advise the siesta in the house air-conditioning and emerging to the streets after 5pm. The long balmy nights lend well to terrace living.

For the Winter months of December and January warm duvets and reverse cycle air-conditioning in bedrooms, plus gas heating on the patio and salon will keep you warm.

Fes City

Fes City

Within 50 meters of the house, visit Medersa Bouanania, the mysterious Water Clock, and the Cafe Clock where free WiFi can be enjoyed and their famous camel burger, together with their date and almond milk shake are unequaled! Take in the scents of the spice markets and aromas or rose and orange blossoms. Choose the seasonal local fruits and vegetables of your choice, all fresh and brightly colored. Up near Bab Boujloud, food can be bought at any time, with a variety of restaurants and cafes where you can watch the passing parade. In the warmer months from 5.30pm onward you'll see the "promenade", where the Mothers and daughters are out parading wearing their traditional Djellabas and high heels.

Breakfast breads can be bought anytime, both the french baguette or the traditional Moroccan khobz, and if you want, you can buy direct from the nearby bakery, hot from the oven!
