The Emilia Romagna region

The Emilia Romagna region

- Surrounded by walls, still keeping intact the atmosphere of its rich past, Ferrara presents many points of cultural interest, such as the Estense Castle, built in 1385 for the purpose of defense and who later became a magnificent royal residence, the splendid Palazzo Schifanoia the Cathedral, the quaint Old Town, reached by narrow medieval streets.

- Ravenna is one of the most historically and artistically important cities in Italy. 8 monuments have been declared World Heritage by UNESCO: San Vitale, the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, the Neoniano, Apollinare Nuovo and in Classe, the Arian Baptistery, the Archiepiscopal Chapel and the Mausoleum of Theodoric. Here more than anywhere else in the art of mosaic has reached the highest levels of craftsmanship.

- The legend tells of how Comacchio war originally born in 13 small islands due to the dense network of canals and characteristic that still runs through the city center. This peculiarity makes a Comacchio lagoon city. From Trepponti, the Bridge of cops, by the fish market at Palazzo Bellini, to the Cathedral of San Cassiano and the Loggia dei Cappuccini, a fascinating excursion where history and art are reflected on the placid waters of the canals.
