Built in 2004 to a high standard our home is family friendly, quiet and provides spacious accommodation for 6 - 8 people. Ferragudo is one of the most scenic and charming places in the Algarve. Life runs slowly, small local fishing boats dot the tiny harbour and Praia de Grande beach is clean, uncrowded and safe. Historic Monchique mountains, Silves, Alvor and Carvoireo are all within 10km.

The Algarve region
The western Algarve is popular with all types of holidaymakers, it is ideal for a spring or autumn relaxing weekly break, a main summer holiday or a golfing break. The climate is warm from March to October, winters are very mild and summers are long and hot.
The coastal regions are blessed by many safe, sandy uncrowded beaches, inland there is a vast array of golf courses and traditional villages.
The main landmarks include the marina resort of Vilamoura, the eastern old town of Tavira, the shopping area's of Albufuera and the popular resort of Carvoireo.
Ferragudo area
Ferragudo is a small unspoilt fishing village in the western Algarve. Life runs slowly, small local fishing boats dot the tiny harbour. Local women wash laundry in front of their white painted houses. Tiny narrow streets give a real impression of the Portugese village environment.
The village square is a place of daily activity and most Saturdays in the summer there is always a local concert in the square.
The village has many good meat and fish restaurants (in the village, by the harbour and on the beach) offering excellent value portugese cuisine.
Beach activities include peddalo's, volleyball, sailing & sunbathing.
There is a David Leadbetter golf academy and the golf complex of Gramachio and Pinta within 2.5 km (5 - 10 mins drive).
The nearest water park is within 5 km.
The coastal towns of Carvoireo, Silves and Alvor are all within 10km as are the historic Monchique mountains.
The nearest hypermarkets are in Carvoiro (10km) Portimao (5km) and there is a Lidl in Parchal (3km). The other main coastal towns of Albuferia, Vilamoura and Algarve Shopping complex all within 30 minutes drive or bus ride
There is also several local markets daily in the surrounding villages.
How to get there
Fly to Faro, Cheap flights widely available from Leeds Bradford (Jet2.com), Manchester (Monarch & BMI Baby), East Midlands (BMI Baby & EasyJet), Doncaster & Coventry (Thomsonfly), Liverpool, Humberside, Tyneside, Glasgow, Stanstead, Luton & Gatwick (Easyjet) & Birmingham (Monarch).
Selection of car hire from Faro Airport, Ferragudo is 45 minutes west on main Portugal Algarve routes (A22) from airport.

Local buses run between Ferragudo and main towns as do taxi's and water taxi's

Further details indoors: The villa has a large lounge with ample seating for 6, a separate dining area with fully equipped kitchen, three large bedrooms (one en suite) and balcony views to the private rear orchard and front patio area.
A weekly maid service is included.
Further details outdoors: The area has ample off road parking, is quiet and affords a pleasant walk to the restaurants, shops and cafe's in the village.
Access to the main Algarve routes are easy and there is a good bus and taxi (water and land) service from the village.
The pool is non chlorine, filtered and is 20ft x 11.5ft with terrace area and shade.

All bookings are Saturday to Saturday in high season, outside of high season alternate start, finish & long weekends are available.
Conditions
Refundable damage bond of 500 euro is payable on arrival. Booking deposit is 25% to secure reservation, final payment 45 days prior to arrival.
Change over day in the high season is Saturday with some flexibility in the low season.

Atchinson Family - May 2007- We had a wonderful week at Casa Louia. We were all very impressed with your villa. Your efforts for the children were much appreciated and they had a brilliant time. Ferragudo is marvellous, the kind of place we found and fell in love with when we first visited Portugal. The weather was terrific also - so thank you very much indeed, our faith in Portugal has been restored.
Hamilton Family - July 2007- We are back at work in the UK , but we would quite happily get back on the plane and return to Ferragudo for a month!! The whole family enjoyed the holiday immensely, the weather and accoomodation played a big part in. The younger children spent a lot of their time in your pool and are adamant that they will be returning next year!!
Van de Sande Family - Aug 2007 -Lovely time enjoyed by all the family, villa excellent,and catered for all our needs, swimming pool very welcoming, enjoying barbecues around the pool at night. and experienced some lovely meals in the restaurants in Ferragudo. The distance into Ferragudo village square was just a short. walk away The beaches were unspolit, the local were very friendly. We are hoping to return and have mentioned the holiday to family and friends.
Brookes Family-Sept 2007 - thank you very much for the stay in your villa. It had everything in it you could think of and it was much larger than we expected. Your pictures do not portray the size of it. The weather was beautiful and only started to rain on the Sunday as we were coming home, which of course we didn't mind. Ferragudo was lovely, we visited several of the restaurants and we did the pirate trip from Portimao and also the Slide and splash waterpark.
