Ferragudo area
Ferragudo is a quaint fishing village which is unspoilt by tourism.It has all your needs for a self catering holiday. There is a lovely square with cafe“s, bars and restaurants ,a bank,post office,small supermarkets,fishmarket,bakers,butchers& chemist.The apartments are a five minute walk to the peaceful Angrinha beach,and another 5minutes stroll to the larger beach of Praia Grande where you can soak up the sun and enjoy a drink or lunch at one of the beach bars. This beach is ideal for children as it has a fenced children's play area where you can watch them if wanted from the beach bar restaurant. You can catch the water taxi to Portimao marina from the Souest Fish restaurant on the harbour. Boat trips and other excursions Like jeep safaris , water park , Zoo marine can be booked from the tourist office in the square.You can also visit Praia de Rocha where the clubs and bars stay open to the early hours. You can get a taxi there for 5-6 euros. Golf courses are within a ten minute drive ,Gramacho,Pestana,Penina, and the new golf resort of Morgados in Portimao.
How to get there
Fly to Faro-Castaways apartments are a 40 minute drive from the airport. Cheap flights available from easyjet.co.uk ,also Monarch airlines ,and XL.com, Skyscanners .com Local taxis always available -fare should be no more than 60 euros. Mini bus tranfers arranged for larger groups.
