A three bedroomed semi detached apartment situated in a quiet residential area known as windmill hill at the top of Ferragudo village. The ideal place to have a relaxing holiday in a charming Portuguese fishing village. The apartment is built onto a slope which gives marvellous views, from the rear spacious balconies, of the village of Ferragudo, the Monchique mountains, and the river Arade. There are two bathrooms one is en suite, fitted kitchen with oven and microwave, coffee machine, juicer, toaster, fridge, kettle, kitchen table and six chairs. The comfortable lounge has Sat TV English and German channels, sofas, and log burning fire.
There is a private garden to the rear of the property with a plunge pool ,ideal to cool off on those hot afternoons. For parties of more than 6 people this apartment has an adjoining studio which can sleep 2 more people at an additonal rate . To view please see link at bottom of page. Ferragudo area
Ferragudo is a quaint fishing village which is unspoilt by tourism.It has all your needs for a self catering holiday. There is a lovely square with cafe´s, bars and restaurants ,a bank,post office,small supermarkets,fishmarket,bakers,butchers& chemist.The apartments are a five minute walk to the peaceful Angrinha beach,and another 5minutes stroll to the larger beach of Praia Grande where you can soak up the sun and enjoy a drink or lunch at one of the beach bars. This beach is ideal for children as it has a fenced children's play area where you can watch them if wanted from the beach bar restaurant. You can catch the water taxi to Portimao marina from the Souest Fish restaurant on the harbour. Boat trips, Fishing and other excursions Like jeep safaris , water park , Zoo marine can be booked from the tourist office in the square.You can also visit Praia de Rocha where the clubs and bars stay open to the early hours. You can get a taxi there for 5-6 euros. Golf courses are within a ten minute drive ,Gramacho,Pestana,Penina, and the new golf resort of Morgados in Portimao.
How to get there
Fly to Faro-Castaways apartments are a 50 minute drive from the airport. Cheap flights are available from Easyjet.co.uk ,British Airways,Monarch Airlines& XL.com. Local taxis are available from the airport- fare should be no more than 60 euros . Mini bus transfer can be arranged for larger parties. The directions from the airport are as follows-Take the A22 Faro road out of the Airport. You then want to take A22 Portimao Albufeira exit. Carry on the A22 past the new football stadiam on your right ,just after this you will see the motorway exit Portimao Albufeira Lisboa on your right.Take this and stay on the A22 until you see the Silves Exit ,Turn off at this exit and you will see a roundabout you then want Lagoa Estombar turn off at the Estombar exit carry on the N 125 until you see the sign on your right for Ferragudo Portimao take this road and this will lead you to Parchal ,go through Parchal you will see aLidle Supermarket on your left.Turn left at the lights and follow the road for a mile. This will take you into Ferragudo ,You will see the village square on your right.
