Home description

The chalet was built in 2007 and is furnished to a high standard with all facilities including an outdoor private hot tub, satellite flat screen TV, four bedrooms (3 double bedrooms and 1 basement bedroom with luxury queen sized bunk beds - ideal for a children's room) and two bathrooms. The property is built over two floors (approx 2000 sq ft), with outdoor decking on first floor to front and a patio at the rear.

Internally the living , dining and breakfast bar are on the first floor in an open plan layout. While the property has traditional pine wood features, the furniture and kitchen is contemporary in design.
On the lower floor there are two bedrooms with a play area , and laundry facilities including under floor heated slate flooring. The property has a driveway and a garage , ski storage and internal access to property.

The British Columbia region

British Columbia is famous and renowned for its spectacular scenery , with the rocky mountains surrounding the twon of Fernie and view of the famous three sisters. Skiing terrain in Fernie is second to none and attracts all types of skiers, but is particularly respected for its steep off terrain powder skiing. fernie has its own mircoclimate which gives is high snowfall , wind is a rare event, which gives superb skiing conditions right through to April. Temperatures in winter average around -7C and in summer day time around 25 c.


Fernie area

Fernie is an old mining town and has a quaint main street, with shops and restaurants (including a Thai and french restaurant). It also has a vast array of winter and summer outdoor activities. In winter skiing, boarding , snowmobiling, dog sledging, snow shoeing. In summer , Golf , (Fernie is famous for its fishing), white water rafting, nature trails, mountain biking, rock climbing, horseback riding and wildlife viewing

There are a number of direct transatlantic services offered through Air Canada (Aircanda.com) and British Airways (Ba.com) into Calgary. Also Flyzoom.com internal flights from calgary to Cranbrrok (approx 30 mins). o Calgary is 2.5 hours drive from fernie or Fly into Cranbrook 40 minutes drive.

From 2009 Cranbrook will open an international airport with flights direct from the UK..
