BookThe Nevis Island region
Discover a little-known wonder in the Carribean: Nevis, sister island to St. Kitts in the tradewind-kissed Leeward Islands. Bask in near-perfect weather, all year round.
The name Nevis is derived from the Spanish word 'nieve", which means snow. Christopher Columbus gave the name tot the island when he discovered it in 1492, due to the clouds on top of the mountain that he could see as he approached.
This unspoiled island offers visitors the opportunity to experience the Caribbean as it should be. The climate is constantly pleasant and there are no ugly hotel complexes, congested beaches or frantic commercial centres.
The Fern Hill / Barnes Ghaut area
Fern Hill Estates is located on the gently sloping hill with breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea and the neighbouring island of St. Kitts as well as dramatic mountain views of 3200 foot high Nevis Peak. Cool and green, this is one of the most beautiful areas of Nevis.
Ferns, stately coconut palms, mature tamarind and mangoes are located on the property. Bordered on one side by a ghaut (a natural water course) with boulders, caves and exotic vegetation and surrounded by lush tropical forest, Fern Hill is a pristine and distinctive place to live.
The perfect starting point to discover and enjoy all the wonderful attractions of Nevis;
- Enjoy Ten top beaches, from the famous Pinney's Beach (Four Seasons Resort) to the secluded Lovers Beach and the rugged Newcastle Beach.
- Endure Nature trails and hiking, all the way up to Nevis Peak or the more accesible and monkey lined Source trail. The 9 mile Upper Round Raod that was constructed in the 1600 should also not be missed.
- Discover Nevisian Landmarks such as delightful Charlestown, Museum of Nevis History, Hamilton Estate, Botanical Gardens, Heritage Village and the beautifully restored Plantation Inns.
- Try Golf (at the spectacular Robert Trent Jones course), Horseback riding, Scuba Diving, Deep Sea fishing or a relaxing sail on board of the Caona Catamaran
- Experience shopping in downtown Charlestown or at the City Market, or simply indulge and get pampered at one of the island's four top Spa's.
- Taste the varied cuisine this beautiful island paradise has to offer. From the classic West Indian goat stew, to fresh, grilled lobster. Nevis restaurants can satisfy the simplest to the most sophisticated palates. Using local in-season fruits and vegetables, chef's delight theirvisitors creating clourful cuisine.
- Return to Changes in Lattitudes at the end of the afternoon to take a refreshing dive in the Villa Pool and enjoy the sunset view with a freshly prepared Rum Punch.

The house for just beautiful, great scenery and what a view! The staff was wonderful. The road is horrible and it is getting worse everyone says. Pretty dangerous in some spots. It takes 15 minutes to get to the beach, not 5 minutes as advertised. We had to buy our own bath soap, there was none, and toilet paper, there was only 1 roll in each bathrooms, no extras. The downstairs bedroom has no dresser. I was chilly at night, there were no blankets, Brenda brought us 2 the next day. There is no serrated knives to cut bread or tomatoes. If you have a large group (we had 8) the house is so large that you are not on top of each other There is a remote missing for the AC in the back bedroom. The shower head fell of by the pool, we put it back, but it won't be long before it falls off again. I love Nevis, and I will return, but until the road is fixed, we won't rent any villas in the Fern Hill Phase 2 area. Love the house. Lots of space to spread out |
