The Limousin / Auvergne / Creuse region

The Creuse Valley is an area becoming very popular with Home buyers from UK.The houses are cheap and the countrside beautiful. This facinating region was the home of the French resistance.The Military still have there war games in the mountain,and the house still stands firm even after 160 years.The Creuse is blessed with some of the most beautiful scenery in France the hills behind the house are 1000m and the national parc streches for 50 sq miles.
Wild boar and deer roam freely and the lakes and rivers are everywhere.the lake next door is full of trout.
For a small fee and a bit of the local lingo pops can go a huntin.
The air is clean and the seasons are well defined.with long stretches of sunny warm days .
The local market is booming and you will get everything you want fresh from the farms,including chedder cheese,bacon and all the English treats from the english Vendor at market . Limoges airport 1hr 20 mins.

Felletin area

Felletin is a lovely market town 10 minuites from the house and has the Creuse river running through it there are wonderful restaurants and one in particular does 4 couses which can include wild boar or deer home made gateaux wine coffee and cheeses for a tenna.Its a homely bar and restaurant but who cares when the food is that good.This whole area is famous for its tapestries and ceramics and you can buy or learn how to make them or just visit the museums to see some os the most intricate tapestries in the worled.
This area is a place where healthy living and wonderful food abound.allthough there are only a few English settlers around theres always English people at the markets and Friends are easy to come by.

How to get there

Situated 3 hrs drive South of Paris 4 hrs North of the Meddeteranian In the heart of Frances Central Masif on the Creuse river. Riannair from Stanstead and BMI also Air France to Limoges(cheap) 1 hour. Airport hire at Limoges airport .The house is just over an hour from Limoges airport.
Driving. Is Ferry to Calais drive around Paris Due South through Orleans, Chateureaux, Limoges.take the south exit 37 from Limoges head East to Eymoutiers .the drive from here is amaising.Follow the d989 along the Viennne River to Faux la Montagne This is 3 of the Largest lakes in France Drop down into the Creuse Valley and Le Soulier is Just before The River. Clairavaux is the sleepy village 1 km away on the opposit side of the Valley.
