The Mallorca/Majorca region
This area of Mallorca is very unspoilt, set in a very rural area between the two country towns of Porreres and Felanitx. The area is renowned for its white wine which at one time used to be exported from Porto Colom to France. Capers can been seen growing in the fields along the route from Felanitx to Campos. Opposite the house, the fields have been used for growing, tomatoes, peppers, and melons.
Porreres also approx. 5 kms away is a country town that is home to handicrafts of everyday objects. Once a year at the end of October the 'Sa Fira' fair is held where the local handicrafts of copper kettles, cast iron pots, pewter goblets and home made baking tins are proudly displayed. There are many antique shops with metal workshops connected where visitors can watch the artisans at work and then purchase the newly made product such as a traditional 'picarol' - cowbell made exactly as they were hundreds of years ago.
Felanitx offers all amenities. A palm lined square with bars where locals gather at the end of every day to catch up on the days news. A large weekly market held on a Sunday market takes place in the town square and adjacent roads. There is a beautiful chuch Sant Miguel founded in 1248 with a facade and steps that are a fine example of Baroque style. The portal and and windows at the side of the church were carved during the Renaissance.
'Sa Coma' is set within the area of the Caves and Monasteries tour to be found in the 'Landscapes of Mallorca' book by Valerie Crespi-Green which gives walks, car tours and picknicking suggestions.
Porto Cristo is a Roman port and is a major tourist attraction due to the Cuevas del Drac and Cuevas del Hams. The Cuevas del Drac are 1, 700 metres long. There is an interior lake which is 177 metres long and 40 metres in width. A musical show is performed on the underground lake. There is also a beach at Porto Cristo with all amenities.
Reserva Africana - autosafari is located on the PMV402-3 between Porto Cristo and S'Illot. You can either drive your own car or take the train. Ideal for children or young at heart adults. There are many animals, rhinos, elephants, ostriches, giraffes, hippos, monkeys, crocodiles and lots more. There is also an elephant show twice a day.

"A charming rural retreat far from the maddening crowds"
The home has everything you would want in a Mallorcan retreat - even the soothing sounds of nature. And a wonderfully stocked pond with some great Mallorcan croaking frogs. It's extremely peaceful with extensive grounds that have been thoughtfully developed with attractive shrubs and plenty of places to eat, drink and relax outdoors. The pool is well maintained and the perfect temperature and adjacent to open countryside provides the perfect location to unwind. Inside, the house has been tastefully set out with attractive art and furniture and the owners have kitted out the kitchen with everything you would want to cook using local ingredients. There is even an abundance of mint in the garden just outside the kitchen

"Easily the most relaxing and rewarding holiday we have had so far"
Sa Coma is a beautiful and well presented Finca in a lovely, peaceful rural setting. The house is very large so easily will accomodate 9 people with plenty of space. It is very well equipped and a real home from home. The pool was the best feature for us as it is larger than most we've had. The tinkling of goats' bells in the distance and a cockerel with no sense of timing were the most noticeable noises we heard all week so nothing to complain about there. There aren't any shops or bars nearby (within walking distance) that we noticed and the location means you definately need a car but there is a good Lidl in nearby Felanitx which is a ten minute drive. Manoacor has many more really good supermarkets and is really worth a visit as it is a lovely town. The monastery of San Salvador is only a twenty minute drive and well worth a visit as long as you have a head for heights! We really can't say anything negative about Sa Coma. The owners, Wendy and Peter were really quick to reply to any queries and the booking process was excellent. We will be booking again. A lovely, peaceful, relaxing place. Highly recommended.

"Splendid, relaxing and well equipped Finca in great part of Mallorca"
We had a great holiday in a very nice and well equipped house near Felanitx. Nice beaches, restaurants and places nearby. Good swimmingpool also for small children and plenty of facilities in and nearby the finca.

"Relaxing Country House"
We had a lovely time in Mallorca. The house was great and we had a really relaxing holiday.
The pool was fabulous and we had lots of great BBQ's and beds were also very comfortable. We really felt the photos on the website did not do the place justice - it is absolutely beautiful - like a national trust property! The property is also huge - which we did not appreciate before we got there, not a lot of rental propertys are this big and would be wonderful for two families.
It was about 20 mins drive to the many restraunts at Cala D'or and the Marina which the teenagers loved in the evening. The beaches are about 20 -25 mins away and well worth the drive. Its lovely to come back the silence of the villa at the end of the day and not have to fight over sunlougers in the morning!

"Perfect relaxation with friends in a peaceful, rural setting."
Our 3rd visit to Sa Coma was as relaxing as the previous 2. The villa is in a rural setting with great walking from the door.
The cooler May evenings gave us an ideal chance to utilise the covered bar area whilst the many different sitting positions around the villa and pool allowed us to spread out during the day.
Felanitx Sunday market provided a retail therapy outlet and we loved the quiet hilltop town of Sineu. For a more lively day out we had a trip on the Soller railway - a must for any railway enthusiasts. But the highlight of our stay was the owls who seemed to have occupied the trees in the property. We saw them most days - just sitting at roost and in the dusk saw them hunting in the fields adjacent to the property.
I can recommend restaurant Son Colom (just outside Felanitx on the Campos road) - try the cod stuffed peppers for a starter or if you've a really healthy appetite the steaks are excellent. We did have one problem - with the water. I contacted the owner (Wendy) and she apologised and got it sorted very quickly.
