Villa | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 8
The house is detached and stands in 2500 square metres of land. Because we are situated in the Massif des Maures hills, the land is set on 4 tiers, with the house on the 2nd tier and the pool on the 3rd tier, this allows the property magnificent, uninterrupted views of the valley and is not overlooked.
There is a beautiful infinity swimming pool, certainly one of the main features of the villa. This is quite deep though and there is not a shallow end for young children so bouyancy aids are important.
Lac de St Cassien has a water park and a bird sanctuary and beautiful walks and is only 30 mins by car. You will pass the other 4 "villages perches, (Seillans being the 5th) of Fayence, Tourettes, Callian and Montauroux on the way.
There is golf at the two world class golf courses at Terre Blanche with-in 30 minutes drive from the villa.
There are several famous Mediterranean beaches in easy reach by car. For example Mandelieu-La Napoules; Fréjus; St Raphael; Cannes; Ste Maxime and St Tropez (for St Tropez we strongly recommend during summer time to take the ferry from St Raphaël rather than driving). Another fantastic place to visit is Les Iles de Lerrins, Cannes - Small islands off the beach of Cannes which can be reached by public ferry or sailing boat.Cannes is just 35km away, 35km to Frejus and St Rapahel and 50km to St Tropez.
Cannes is a busy but extremely glamorous beach, wonderful for people watching, as is St Tropez. Frejus and St Raphael are quieter and more family friendly. Juan le Pins is also 40km away and has many private beach areas with waiter service.
Please refer to website for further information.
It is a family home, but because of the steep hills and the terraces, it must be mentioned that children must not be left unsupervised.
Also, though we have said that it will sleep a maximum of 8 people, there are enough beds to cater for 11 people. we find that this would be less comfortable so I have put a maximum of 8 for comfort and space.

Our home a beautiful idyllic getaway to relax and enjoy all that France has to offer. It is a 4 bedroomed house with rooms over 2 floors:
Downstairs consists of 2 bedrooms, the master bedroom (sleeps 2) is complete with an en suite bathroom and the 2nd bedroom (sleeps 2) has a family size bathroom, immediately adjacent to it. There is a separate toilet downstairs.
There is a comfortable living room with a seating area and a real fire place.
Off the living room is an open plan kitchen with all facilities. There is also a dining table within the kitchen area that can seat 5-6 people.
Upstairs, there are a further 2 bedrooms, bedroom one (sleeps 2) has a low ceiling. The other is quite large and has a double bed as well as a single bed, both are serviced by a family bathroom with bath and shower. There is also a mezzanine upstairs, which doubles as an entertainment area with large flatscreen TV, with DVD player and DVD's. There is also a sofa bed that will sleep 2 people comfortably.
|Further details outdoors|
The villa sits within a landscaped garden, accessed through remote controlled gates.
There is a covered area with a large dining table just outside the kitchen, ideal for most family meals, overlooking the beautiful valley. There is a large patio area with a patio set of a table and 4 chairs.
Down a set of steps you will find the feature of the villa, the infinity pool.
The pool has an electric cover that when properly secured will stand the weight of a small child and we recommend that you close this when not using the pool and is a legal requirement in France to avoid accidents around the pool. (Please be aware of high drops as the area is on terraces.)
There are a number of Olive trees in the garden as well as a fig tree and blackberry bushes, so depending on the time of the year, fresh fruit is available to eat with your breakfast or lunch.

Isola 2000 is about 2 hours drive from Seillans and offers skiing at 2000 metres altitude from December to April.
Gréolières Les Neiges is a 90 minute drive and offers skiing at 1400-1700 metres altitude from Christmas to March. The resort, though relatively small, is good for learning and can be excellent after a big snowfall. The resort also has snow cannons.
In Seillans you will find a post office, newsagents, pharmacy, cafe, bar, supermarket and even art galleries. From the lower square, Seillans stretches up through narrow, cobblestone streets that snake between ancient buildings and picturesque squares to the beautiful Saint Léger church at the top. At the Place du Thouron, the ancient stone fountain is surrounded by al-fresco restaurant tables.
The local town of Fayence, has several restaurants and cafes, it also has a colourful local market in the village square 3 times a week. Here you will find local pottery and fabrics as well as fresh vegetables, cheeses and local specialties.
Near-by is the local Marché Paysan (Farmers Market) which is open 6 days a week in the summer. Farmers from the local area bring their own produce fresh each morning to the market. Foods rarely seen at home can be found - white aubergines and courgettes flowers, for example. Browse around the shelves of farm produce for locally made cheeses, wines and preserves.
Lac St Cassien is closer to the house if you don't want to drive to the beach. It has beautiful walks and is very safe for children for swimming and pedaloes.

"This villa is exceptional value for location, size and amenities."
This is a large villa that comfortably accomodated two adults and three kids with one double bedroom unused!
The property is accessed through its own electric gate and private drive, and sits in the middle of good-sized, mature gardens with plenty of trees and shrubs. It has a really big terrace that stretches across the full width of the property and has fantastic views across the hills and beyond, .
There are stone steps from the side of the terrace down to the swimming pool (no rail on these steps and they are quite steep - my kids (11, 8, 6) were fine with them but younger ones, elderly or infirm may find them difficult). The pool itself would be great for a villa twice the price as it is very large and kept the children entertained throughout our stay. (My kids are all pretty decent swimmers so the depth didnt faze them but as there is no real shallow end younger or less able swimmers would need to be kept an eye on).
The nearby village of Seillans (5 mins) has some great restaurants and a decent enough mini-supermarket, and Feyance is only another 10 mins away and can cater for pretty much anything else you might need as well as having a twice-weekly market which is worth taking a break from sunbathing for!
The over-riding feeling of this villa is just how much space you have for the relatively modest price - whether in the pool, inside or outisde in the gardens or on the terrace. The kitchen is a little dated compared to Urban England but is exactly what you would expect in the French mountains and has every appliance you need except a dishwasher. As already mentioned the steps and the depth of the pool may not be best suited to toddlers but I am really splitting hairs trying to find fault with this property; it really is a great place and just fantastic value.
