The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region
Holidaying in this sun-drenched corner of France provides the traveller with plenty of options. A quiet rural haven provides a base from which the whole area can be explored. Ancient medieval villages are set within 30km of the glamorous Cote d'Azur. Colourful local market, boule courts and vineyards reflect the life of the local people.
Seillans is a beautiful medieval village clinging to the southern slopes of the Canjuers hills. The winding cobbled streets and ancient village houses create an atmosphere of timeless antiquity. The skyline is dominated by a twelfth-century church and a stately chateau. The village itself boasts three excellent restaurants and there are many others available within a ten to fifteen minute drive.
There are four similar medieval villages within 20 minute's drive of Seillans and the local markets sell fresh fruit and vegetables, local crafts and linen. There is one small supermarket in Seillans and three large supermarkets within a five-mile radius of the village. This is a wonderful area for walking, whether you prefer long, energetic treks or gentle strolls. Golfing is available nearby and there are water sports on Lac St Cassien.
