The house has been tastefully decorated with comfortable furnishings. Being situated on terraced land the garden has many separate areas for relaxation.
The entrance hall overlooks the terraced garden and pool, this leads to the large open plan, fully equipped kitchen/sitting room and dining area. There is a door from the hall leading to a smaller sitting room, a double bedroom, twin bedroom and a shower room. This sitting room is equipped with a Wii Fit and games console, you are welcome to bring your own games.
The master sitting room has plenty of seating with Freesat Plus TV, (which enables recording programmes) DVD/BluRay player and Bose ipod docking station. DVD's are not provided so you may like to bring your own choice of films.
The kitchen has a breakfast bar, dishwasher, larder fridge, separate fridge freezer, 5 ring gas hob with one and a half electric ovens below and equipped with ample crockery, cutlery and glassware for entertaining 10 people. This entire area opens via French doors onto the top terrace with dining table and chairs for al fresco dining and is partly covered. There is a gas barbecue for summer evenings.
On this level there is a separate toilet, the master bedroom with en suite which comprises - two sinks, bath, shower and toilet. All the bedrooms in the house have a chest of drawers and ample hanging space.
At the garden level there are two separate double bedrooms with enquire shower rooms. Both have doors opening into the garden.
The store room is at garden level and this is where the laundry is situated.
All bed linen is Egyptian cotton and towels for the bathrooms and swimming are provided. The owner would ask that the pool towels are not taken to the beaches. Linens and towels are changed weekly. Duvets are available in the Winter months. Each shower room, (of which there are three) and the bathroom (which has a shower, two sinks and a full size bath) has a heated towel rail.
|Further details outdoors|
There is a large, partly covered, upper terrace with dining table, sun umbrellas and ample seating. The gas BBQ is on upper terrace to make al fresco dining a most enjoyable experience. Two French doors lead from the kitchen and sitting room and open onto the top terrace.
The master bedroom has French doors opening onto this terrace with a large lounger, sofa and coffee table.
At the garden level there is a summer kitchen, with a sink and cupboard for plastic glasses for poolside use.
The summer kitchen area has a sofa and chairs to take a break from the midday sun heat. Being equipped with an all weather table tennis table, dart board and a boules pitch (on the upper terrace above the swimming pool) there is plenty to keep you entertained.
The pool has a Roman end with steps which makes it safe for children and can be seen from all areas of the house. Plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas are provided for the large terraced area surrounding the pool so that all members of your party can relax.
The gardens and pool are both maintained regularly.
The swimming pool has a heating system which can raise the temperature to 3 or 4 degrees above air temperature. This can be used in the months up to June, or after September when the pool may need an extra boost. It is not an option to have heating during July and August when the air temperature is high.
There are English speaking representatives who are willing to help and the owner speaks some French if required.
As the airlines seem to increase their weekend prices to prohibitive levels during the summer, we have decided for the first time
TO TAKE MID WEEK BOOKINGS.
The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region
There are plenty of things to see and do in the this beautiful region. There are plenty of cycling routes in the region.
All the surrounding villages and towns have Provencal markets and good restaurants. Fabulous walks through the local countryside and on the mountains of the Southern Alps are pleasurable at all times of the year.
There are a few small ski resorts, such as Greolieres, within an hours drive from Fayence.
Fayence is a short distant from Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Juan Le Pins, St Tropez, Port Grimaud and Monaco on the Cote D'Azur, all have a multitude of sights and activities.
The Gorges Du Verdon is an immense canyon stretching from Castellane to Lac St Croix. Grasse, the perfume capital of the world is only 30 km away and towns such as Les Arcs, Lorgue and Thoronet Abbey has a listed French National monument
Fayence is nestled between the mountains of the Esterel and the lower Alps. It is one in a string of perched villages which include Montauroux, Seillans, Tourettes and Callian – each one no more than 10 minutes from the next.
All these villages have typical markets, pleasant restaurants (to suit all budgets) and a sensible collection of day-to-day and tourist shops
Typical ochre houses line the cobbled streets with alleyways running between. There are plenty of arts and crafts festivals held in the heart of the village during the course of the year and concerts held in the cultural centre in the village of Fayence.
The Lac du St Cassien is a 15 minute drive away where pedalos, kayaks and the like can be hired. Sit and relax on the banks and swim in the Lake whilst absorbing the beautiful scenery. This lake is very popular with carp fishermen during the season - renters would need to source the correct permissions and licences. This is a sought after area for the keen cyclist too.
Fayence is known for its international gliding centre, The Fayence Gliding Club, where you can book a flight to view the stunning surrounding area, these flights need to be booked in advance. There is also a bar and restaurant at the flying club so you can sit and watch the action.
There are golf courses, the nearest being The Four Seasons Resort Terre Blanc (15 minutes away) and others such as St Endreo in La Mottel, Chateau Taulane in Matre or St Doney in Grasse, there is something for all abilities.
For beauty treatments and to try out a hydrotherapy pool, there is one at the Domaine de Fayence just 10 minutes drive away.
Supermarkets can be found in Fayence, Seillans, Callian, and Montauroux , all of which are easily accessible.

"A splendid property in wonderful grounds"
We spent three weeks at Les Marcassins with family and friends and enjoyed every minute of it. The property is large and well designed so that all the guests enjoyed spacious accomodation and the sitting and terrace areas were big enough for ten to eat and relax in comfort The kitchen was bright and was equipped with everything you could need.
There were some good restaurants nearby but we enjoyed the villa so much we tended to eat on the terrace most evenings.
Monica, the owner, lives nearby and was always on hand to answer any queries and give advice.
All the family and friends agreed that this was an exceptional holiday in an exceptional property.

"Beautiful villa, lovely peaceful grounds and pool."
Monica was an excellent host and nothing was too much trouble-she really went out of her way to sort out personal details, both before and during our stay. The kitchen was very well equipped(most most large rental villas) with more than enough cutlery/plates/glasses etc for 2 meals for 10 people. Dining room and outdoor tables amply big enough for 10 with plenty chairs. The grounds were so beautiful-surrounded by trees and well maintained(would have liked to have been there when lavender in bloom as suspect is gorgeous), peaceful with a view over the pool from all aspects and a boules area which was well used.Lots of space for kids to run around, kick football, play on the table tennis table etc but all within sight. Kids spent a large part of the holiday in the pool and there were plenty of loungers, even for the kids. Quiet corners for those wanting a bit of space especially in a large group-double lounger on the terrace overlooking garden with a large glass of wine was a particular treat. I think our only minor point was that the 2 double rooms(both en suite) at pool level feel separate from the rest of house with no internal access-only via outdoor steps from balcony and whilst fine if adults/older childern sleeping here ,it would be much less suitable for younger children to sleep here(or if younger children in main house and parents sleeping here).
Overall it was a haven and a pleasure-we didn't always feel the need to "do something" and some days didn't actually leave the villa.
We would strongly recommend the restaurant in Fayence called Patin Couffin- in an idyllic corner with fine country cooking and a lovely host-very entertaining experience all round!

"Great private house in the hills to get rested and forget daily life"
Dankjewel Monica, Caesar
