The Languedoc-Roussillon region

The Languedoc has so much to offer, infact too much to visit in a short holiday !

The most interesting natural wonders include the magnificent Canal du Midi, the Gorges of the Tarn and Heric, the Caves of Demoiselles, the flamingos and wild horses of the Camargue and Lake Salagou with its lunar landscape and dolomite Cirque de Moureze. The Languedoc is steeped in history and full of historic monuments from the Cathar and other medieval castles to the spectacular churches and abbeys, such as the Abbaye de Fontfroide. With a wealth of Roman towns and sites to visit from Nimes to the Oppidum d'Enserune you will be spoilt for choice.

Why not take part in a wine tour which is often combined with a visit to the oyster beds of the Etang de Thau, or visit the many different Domaines and Chateaux in the area. Within walking distance of the gite you can visit a couple of Domaines and a Wine Cellar, offering tastings and a chance to buy from a wide range of exceptional wines of the area.
