The Central Southern England region
Hampshire is a beautiful county in the south of England. It has diverse activities to entertain all.
Activities on offer are many, sailing on the Solent, walking in the magnificent forests and trails that jig jag across the county to discovering new trails to cycle.
The cities in Hampshire have many ancient remains as well as more modern past times to amuse. They include Portsmouth Southsea, Winchester, Salisbury, Chichester and Bournemouth. Villages that have centuries of history are scattered throughout with a wealth of interesting sites including roman remains and ancient walls, ruins and churches.
There are many attractions to fill your stay from gardens to stroll through, beaches to laze by, historic sites to visit and of course the shopping centers – sorry gents!
The Isle of Wight is just a ferry ride away with attractions to suit any age. Ferries sail from Portsmouth, Southampton and Lymington, bus trips are easy accessed once on the island.
With a wealth of pubs, wine bars and restaurants found throughout Hampshire you will not need to look far for good food and wine.
For more information on what Hampshire has to offer visitors go to www.visithampshire.co.uk.
With so much to entertain you, why not visit for 2 weeks. You will not be sorry.
The apartment lies in the beautiful Meon Valley in Hampshire. It is situated between the historic cities of Portsmouth/Southsea, Winchester and Southampton and close to the ancient villages of Wickham and Bishops Waltham. It is set in a semi rural location.
Portsmouth (www.visitportsmouth.co.uk) and Southsea (www.southsea.co.uk)offers many attractions such as the Historic Dockyard where HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and the remains of Henry 8th’s war ship the Mary Rose are situated. The vibrant Gunwharf Quays has many outlet stores; you can also find boat trips on the Solent and to the Isle of Wight available from there. The Spinnaker Tower built in approximately 2000 can be accessed from Gunwharf Quay’s; views across Portsmouth, Southsea and the Isle of Wight can be had. Nearby is Port Solent Marina which has a smaller harbour where you can hire yachts (www.sunsail.co.uk) and browse the shops and restaurants. It also has a cinema.
Southampton (www.visit-southampton.co.uk), although an ancient city, has modern shopping arcades and the dockyard where liners can be seen arriving and departing. In the heart of the city you will find the third longest stretch of unbroken medieval defensive walling in England.
Winchester (www.visitwinchester.co.uk) is a medieval city but has a modern shopping area hosting many independent stores as well as the usual high street names’; shopping at the market is not to be missed. Winchester is the ancient capital of England, the legendry King Arthur’s Round Table and the Cathedral can be seen.
In all of these cities there are theatres and cinemas along with bars and restaurants for relaxing.
The Meon Valley is close to the South Downs National Park, the New Forest, the Wayfarers Walk, the Test Valley, and the Queen Elizabeth Country Park south of Petersfield and the Isle of Wight to name just a few, for walking, cycling, horse riding and many other activities. Broadlands (home of the Mountbattens) at Romsey, Goodwood for the horse racing and motor racing, Windsor for the castle, are all within a comfortable journey time. Marwell Wildlife Park is 15 minutes drive away. Beaulieu Motor Museum is about 1hr drive away.

"A great place to stay - I would stay again."
Holy Hill apartments are clean and modern but still homely. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners and they genuinely care that guests have a great stay. The apartments are very well equipped want for nothing and everything is of a good quality. The bed is fanatically comfortable and the the location is quiet and peaceful but a car is essential to enjoy the area.
I am very fussy and known for "leaving" more places that I stay, but I can really state, and this is rare, that there is simply nothing to complain about at Holly Hill Apartments.

Very warm reception. Lovely studio, I really get impressed when I enter. Its much more beautiful in situ than the photos.
Very comfortable bed, very clean, wifi, TV with dvds, books, puzzles, fridge, microwaves, laundry machine, it has everything that you need from a small house.
If you need a peaceful environment, I really recomend it.

"Well appointed facilities, lovely location!"
My fiancé and I fancied a few days away, and Holly Hill was recommended to us by a friend; we certainly weren't disappointed! Excellent facilities, lovely location within easy access of rolling countryside, perfect for long walks. Even the awful British weather didn't spoil it. Would thoroughly recommend! Thanks to Pam for the lovely welcome and her help during our stay.
Many thanks for your review, we enjoyed meeting you.Hope your wedding day is beautiful.
