Finding the right place for a young family to escape for a break is very difficult, but in this bungalow and location it is absolutely ideal. The owners are a delight to deal with and are very helpful and accommodating. The bungalow is fully equipped with everything that you need for a home away from home. Even down to the detail of having childrens toys and books (including a marble run which my son loved!). Very spacious rooms with plenty of room for the boys to run around. The underfloor heating was godsend in the cold weather, it was cosy all the time. The location is within a short walk of the beach and even in december it was beautiful to walk along with the waves crashing against the shore. You could come here and not use your car because there is all you need within walking distance or for those who wish to shop there is west quay in southampton or gun wharf quays in portsmouth. There are plenty of museums around and lots to do. I would recommend this to anyone as its in a perfect location. We would definately come back! |

The weather was reasonable for the time of year but the stay was made even better by the accomodation which was a modern purpose built two bedroom bungalow with large rooms yet had a warm and cosy feel. It was clean, fully equipped, well maintained, and Tracey, the owner, called with a warm welcome and ensured all was well. The bungalow is situated first in a side road off the main sea road and the view across the Solent to Osborne House on the Isle of Wight is simply stunning. The property has a large secure garden which was ideal for our dog to enjoy herself too! Local amenities and leisure facilities included a good pub with good food, all water sports and sea fishing aswell as a nature reserve. There were plenty of places to visit within a reasonable distance, including Southampton, Fareham Shopping Centre, Gosport market, and historic Portsmouth for Gunwharf Quays or even a daytrip to the Isle of Wight. We would certainly recommend this property to anyone, not just friends and family. Put it this way we will certainly be re-booking for next year! Lovely house that was perfect for us - close to the Navy Base and lovely walks into Lee on solent. Pub across the road is lovely and has lovely views out towards the Isle of Wight. Small shops available locally but a 10mins drive and you are in either Gosport or Fareham with bigger supermarkets House had everything you could possibly need for adults and kids - we stayed with 2 adults and 3 kids (9-15 years old) and all were happy! Owners a pleasure to deal with. Lovely and comfortable and we will be staying again! |
