The Quarter House is a delightful converted Grade II listed 2-storey apartment in a cottage dating back to the 1750s in the heart of beautiful Mediaeval Rye. Guests can enjoy modern conveniences, including wi-fi and jacuzzi bath, in ancient & characterful surroundings - open log fireplace, original beams and wooden floors. Step outside the front door and wander Rye's cobbled streets, Church Square, and the river with sailing boats at high tide. Historic restaurants, pubs (The Mermaid Inn "Rebuilt in 1420"!), and the many antique barns, boutique & retro shops, art galleries & museums, and the beautiful East Sussex & Kent countryside are all on the doorstep. Catch a film at the award-winning independent Kino Cinema on Lion Street, with its great cafe. Nearby Camber Sands and Winchelsea beaches are less than 10 mins drive away, with sand & shingle beaches, cliffs, wind/kite surfing, dinghy sailing/kayaking also available. There are bikes for hire 2 minutes away, with bike paths through the local countryside. Dungeness & Rye Harbour Nature Reserves, bird sanctuaries & sailing club are close by. The historic towns of Battle, Hastings and Canterbury, with Bodiam, Leeds and Dover Castles, are all within easy driving distance.

Please call the owner Sally prior to your arrival to arrange key collection. If unable to contact Sally, a key safe is located on the left of the door and the code is 1922. Arrival time is 3pm onwards, and departure time is no later than 10am. Please drop the keys back to Sally at no. 44 when you leave but if she is not in, just leave the keys in the key safe and scramble the code. PETS: please bring all your own bedding etc. and please do not allow dogs on any beds or furniture. PLEASE NOTE: there is a £25 charge per pet payable upon arrival to cover deep cleaning (to alleviate potential allergies of future guests!) Thank you.

If Sally (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
