17th century Dovecote made into delightful honeymoon cottage, all mod cons with wonderful character.

Spacious 1st floor double bedroom with "upturned boat" beams and real pigeon-holes. Hall, Twin bedroom/sitting room, Shower room with wc, Living/dining room with corner kitchen and French windows to the private patio overlooking wide lawns. TV (English only). Huge 15m shared swimming pool with diving board.

Set in the grounds of handsome Domaine de Tabary manor house, the Dovecote perches on the edge of the great courtyard which is bounded by the barns and the two other letting houses. All this in rolling countryside with woods and meadows just outside the market town of Excideuil with its mediaeval castle and tiny streets, shops, restaurants and all services.

Standard equipment is one large double bed and two single beds - please ask in advance for a child's bed or cot /high chair if required (free). TV (English only). Washing machine and dishwasher, Iron and ironing board, Fridge/freezer, toaster, electric kettle, electric radiators, electric fan and space heater.

Swimming pool 15m x 7m with springboard for diving in its own hedged lawn a minute's walk along a grass path. The pool is heated by sunshine which normally keeps it at an enjoyable temperature.
Grounds extending over 18 acres of woods and meadows which you are free to roam. Deer and wild boar share the woods and many species of fauna and flora.
Table tennis (two tables) in the barn. Badminton in the garden. Boules and some bikes to borrow.

We live here at Tabar(y all year round, and excvept for short occasional absences (perhaps visiting grandchildren in Bordeaux or Bayonne) we are always on hand to help with any questions arising or any attention needed to the property or contents. We love meeting our guests and showing you around the Domaine, but otherwise we keep very much to ourselves and do not disturb you.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Richard (the owner) a message.

If Richard (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
