Le Moulin de Beaumont is close to the village of Cravans, with a bar/restaurant, boulangerie to walk or cycle to and just 3kms from the town of Gemozac with its shops, supermarkets, outdoor swimming lido, tennis courts and regular Friday market. Situated on its own, with no owners on site, and set in over an acre of garden, with a secluded walled and terraced heated pool, it is a typical old stone Charentaise mill house which has been renovated to provide a light, airy place to stay. All its facilities are for the sole use of the guests and so they are not shared with anyone.With 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 ensuite shower room, open plan well equipped kitchen, sitting room with wood burning stove, TV, sofas and second sitting room with French 'day bed' for those afternoon snoozes, there is plenty of space to enjoy the charms of this property. Situated in over two acres, and bordered by the river Beneguisse (actually, more of a stream with small waterfall), Le Moulin is surrounded by open countryside, where farmers are busy growing fruit and vegetables, along with sunflowers and vines. The garden has proved to be a wildlife haven; the gentle stream often being home to families of ducks, moorhens and coots. Kingfishers and herons are regular visitors and if you're up early enough, you may well see the deer who come to drink from the stream too. As well as being a wildlife haven, the garden provides hours of fun 'pond-dipping' for crayfish, tadpoles and small fish. All we ask is that everything caught is carefully returned to the stream or mill pond opposite the house. The moulin's interesting garden is large enough for ball games to be played, endless running around or simply finding a quiet, sheltered spot to tuck yourself away in with a good book or just your thoughts .As well as spring and summer breaks, why not try an autumn or winter break too and witness the grape harvest, Christmas markets, as well as this beautiful peaceful area. The beauty of staying at Le Moulin de Beaumont is that all the facilities are for your sole use. This means that we do not live there, nor does anyone else. However, we do have managers close by who are at hand should you need them. They will also visit you during your stay to maintain the pool and garden, but will always be discreet. Why can't I call Richard & Siân (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Richard & Siân (the owner) a message.

If Richard & Siân (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
