SONAS IS A BEAUTIFUL SEASIDE RETREAT with views over the Burren landscape, Atlantic ocean, Aran Islands and Galway Bay. It is situated in one of Ireland's most stunning landscapes and is the ideal destination for families, groups and couples Located in an area of peace and tranquility, it is ideal for those who love to walk or just for total relaxation. It also provides a great base for touring this beautiful region of the West of Ireland.

Recently refurbished the house is modern and comfortably decorated with creams with light wood flooring to accentuate the beautiful views outside. Electricity is coin operated. The garden has been designed to compliment the surrending burren landscape.

The garden seating area looks out to the sea and the Connamara coastline with views of the 12 Bens mountain range. Sliding doors lead from the living room to the garden where outdoor eating is the order of the day. Beautiful sunsets at certain times of the year turn the Burren landscape a sensational pink.

Sonas holiday cottage is situated in the village of Fanore which is the heart of one of Ireland's greatest glory, the Burren. A green road walking route, The Burren Way, which begins in Ballyvaughan, twists its way past historic sites, areas of outstanding beauty passing by the house to finish in Lahinch, which boasts a world-class golf course and some of the country's best surfing. Sonas is inthe perfect location for touring the West of Ireland and the Shannon region, perhaps taking a ferry from Doolin, the spiritual home of traditional music in Ireland to visit the Aran Islands

The Fanore area

Local activities include caving, surfing, swimming, walking, cycling, fishing horse riding, wind surfing, mountain-biking, mountaineering and rock climbing. To spend some time in this unique Burren landscape is to experience the delight of the region, timeless, austere beauty of hills, valley, sky and sea. From May to September the colours of the landscape change as plants, flowers and the beauty of wild butterflies, mannals and bird life adds to this unique place. The house is located in the north western corner of County Clare. This area commands magnificent views of the Aran Islands (one of which can be reached from Doolin) and Galway bay. Some of the top attraction in the region are within 10 miles of the house, Alliwee Caves, Poulnabrone dolmen, The cliffs of Moher with its recently opened interpretive centre. The villages of Ballyvaughan, Kinvara, Doolin, Lisdoonvarna and the town of Ennis offer a special irish hospitality, with wonderful restaurants, pubs and speciality shops. For those of you who are music lovers, Doolin (10 miles) is renowned for irish music.

“Gorgeous location, perfect accommodations, awesome pub!” The cottage was immaculate and well suited. We walked to the ocean every morning and spent delightful evenings at O'Donoghue's pub - also walking distance. Fanore is located halfway between Ballyvaughn and Doolin on a road with spectacular views. The owners were a total pleasure to work with. Even the neighbors were delightful. We would highly recommend this property!
