Railway Cottages has been styled to provide a relaxed homely environment to maximise your enjoyment in the property. The property boasts one bathroom with separate shower and toilet upstairs. It also benefits from a downstairs shower room and toilet, saving that tedious wait for someone to finish in the bathroom! Two double bedrooms and one single bedroom will accommodate you for a peaceful night's sleep. A recently installed kitchen with fan oven, grill, gas hob and microwave will cover any adventurous culinary skills you may desire while away. A courtyard area provides outdoor seating for five guests with BBQ facilities available as well as an outdoor storage shed for surf boards and bikes. A very comfortable lounge with digital high definition television and Blu-ray/dvd player as well as a separate dining area for eating. Parking is available at the back of the property but this is not allocated.
The enjoyment of your stay is paramount and board games, books, magazines are provided to help enjoy your break at the cottage.
The property is located a three minute walk from the Falmouth water front and only a five minute walk into town including Falmouth Events Square and the National Maritime Museum, in fact the Maritime Museum tower can be seen on stepping out of the front door! Gyllenvase Beach, Ships and Castles leisure facilities, Pendennis Castle and views across to St Mawes are all just a walk away. You really are in the heart of this vibrant sea side town but far enough away to keep clear of any noisy pubs and clubs; although there is no guarantee you won't hear the odd seagull! From the property you have great access to Truro, with the Truro Falmouth branch line only a few minutes away. This small two carriage train runs to and from Truro during the day. You also have access to a network of passenger ferries taking you to Truro, St Mawes, Penryn, Treliske Gardens and the Helford River.
The property is ideally placed to maximise the enjoyment of the upcoming Tall Ships Festival in Falmouth running from 28th until the 31st August 2014. It is always a popular event with up to 30 tall ships expected to be in Falmouth this year, a truly magical spectacle. 1 Railway Cottages is perfectly located to maximise the enjoyment and the whole event can be enjoyed with a short walk from the property. You will be able to see the Tall Ships in the harbour (about five minutes' walk) and can walk to watch them leave from the headland which takes about 20 minutes to walk. It really is one of Falmouth's great events, a must to see and not been seen in Falmouth on this scale since 2008. Visit http://www.tallshipsfalmouth.co.uk for more information.
Another date for the diary is Falmouth Week running from Friday 8th to Sunday 17 August 2014. This is a great week of activities, with lots happening on the water from sail yachts and gig rowing competitions, RNLI displays and plenty of day and evening entertainment in the town. It really is a great week for all the family. The colours of the oyster catcher sailing boats are magical against the blue of the sea and hopefully for you the blue of the sky! The week culminates with a grand fire work display, a week not to be missed and one of the highlights in Falmouth's calendar. Visit http://www.falmouthweek.co.uk for more information.
Altogether if you are looking for a relaxed and homely break and a place to explore all the delights Falmouth and Cornwall has to offer then 1 Railway Cottages ticks many of the boxes. A place to recharge and explore in comfortable surroundings and only a moments' walk from the harbour, town and the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. So whether it's a walk in to town to sample Rick Steins Fish and Chips, an evenings stroll around the headland to gaze over at the magical St Mawes or just sitting on the beach at Gyllenvase with the sand between your toes, eating a local ice cream with the Atlantic backdrop you can be sure 1 Railway Cottages can provide a holiday to be remembered and treasured.
