Home description
Bens at Goongillings (one of four cottages at the farm) is a modern and airy conversion of an old barn which is named after Ben Bailey our hersdman who used it as his office for many years. Sleeping four in two bedrooms, it has full gas central heating making it suitable for autumn and winter breaks, but is light and airy in style with the original beams and rooflights retained to give character. It has a west facing double french window leading onto its own patio garden area with barbecue and garden furniture. Plenty of parking is available in the farmyard.
From the farmstead, the busy village of Constantine is a short walk away in one direction, and the lovely landscape leading down to the River at Scott's Quay opens to the south.

The West Country / Cornwall region
Local Attractions
The small towns of Falmouth and Helston are about a quarter of an hour away, and Truro, the cathedral city of Cornwall is about 12 miles. The village of Constantine, about 10 minutes walk from the farm, has excellent small shops including butcher, 2 general stores, antique shops, pub, and the Tolmen Centre - an unusually active Arts and Community centre. Constantine was recently made the Calor "village of the year" for Cornwall
In addition, The Trengilly Wartha Inn, a renowned pub and restaurant featured in both the good food guide and the good pub guide is just down the hill from the farm - in easy strolling distance
Within a short distance are wonderful beaches, walks, coastline and famous gardens as well as the lovely Helford River which surrounds the farm.
A bit further afield are The Tate Gallery at St Ives, The Maritime Museum in Falmouth, The Eden project and the many attractions which Cornwall now has to offer.
However, ours is the secluded and relatively uncrowded area of Cornwall, and Goongillings, tucked down a long narrow lane, provides complete privacy and tranquillity in a beautiful riverside location, with plenty of wildlife and an unbeatable landscape, all on your doorstep.
Falmouth / Constantine area
Cornwall has plenty of places to see and things to do, and all are easily accessible from Goongillings. Within a few miles at Gweek is the Seal Sanctuary and at Helston is Flambards - a famous visitor attraction with something for all the family. Falmouth - now a University Town - has the Maritime Museum, a wonderful harbour frontage with bustling waterbased activities from sailing to fishing - its also a thriving port. The Eden Project is a must see - about an hour away, but well worth the trip - a spectacular creation and full of environmentally fascinating things to see and do. Further west is St Ives - famous for its Tate Gallery, its artists - and to be honest, its crowds. Then there's Newquay - which has changed itself into a fashionable resort once again based on its huge surfing reputation. Less formally, Cornwall is the place for walking, beaching, and generally enjoying the special atmosphere which makes it such a unique holiday destination
How to get there
Coveniently positioned between the busy marine centre of Falmouth and the market town of Helston Goongillings in a rural position, tucked away but not isolated, near the lovely Helford River. The village of Constantine is less than 10 minutes walk away. The farm is half an hour by car from Truro, and approximately two hours from Exeter. Train links are from Falmouth or Truro and Newquay Airport with flights from Stansted is 45 minutes away.

There is a freshwater lake as well as a private quay where a boat is kept. At the farmstead is a safe area for children with swings and sandpit as well as a hard tennis court. An antique restored gypsy caravan is a lovely feature. Scott's Quay at the far end of the farm is about 10 minutes walk away at the other end of the farm which is a perfect place for boating and swimming (when the tide's in - it's totally tidal) The farm is large enough for a good circular walk, and dogs are quite welcome.
