The West Country region

The countryside of south west Cornwall is green and soft, interspersed with areas of moorland. The coastline is infinitely varied with rugged cliffs, sandy coves, fishing harbours and creeks which cry out to be explored. Once off the main roads, the winding country lanes all seem to lead to a new discovery, whether it be a delightful natural vista or a welcoming west-country pub.

The area abounds with places to visit to captivate the interests of all age groups. Sailing, surfing, fishing, riding, swimming, walking and golf are all within easy reach. Beaches, castles, boat trips, tin mines, art galleries, cliff walks and theme parks, there is something for everyone.

Constantine village provides for all daily requirements, with two general stores one of which is a Post Office and a world class off-licence, a church, doctor's surgery, local museum etc. Several national supermarkets are within ten minutes drive.

The renowned Trengilly Wartha Inn is just 400 yards down the hill and the walk across fields to Scott's Quay on Polwheveral Creek (a branch of the Helford river) is not to be missed.

The Lizard peninsula, Helston with its Flora Day (in May), the seal sanctuary at Gweek, Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens, Falmouth, Pendennis Castle, Penzance, St Michael's Mount, St Ives (with the Tate Gallery) and countless other treats are within easy driving distance.
