Our fabulous, luxurious, waterfront country house has a 200ft frontage to the Port Navas Creek an arm of the beautiful Helford River tidal estuary on Cornwall’s, Mediterranean-like, south coast. It has its own Private Shingle Beach, Quay and Slipway and lies within a nationally renowned Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is exquisitely situated down an exclusive, quiet, private lane and is set in its own 2 acres of magical, sub-tropical gardens and woodland. The large, west facing patio has glorious views of the creek and the hills beyond and is beautifully positioned to catch the warm afternoon sunshine and romantic sunsets. The house features 5000sq ft of luxury and has 9 Bedrooms (including 4 Master Suites with en-suite bathrooms and super king-size beds), 6 Bathrooms, a large lounge and sunroom, a dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, a pool/spa room, a delightful Den/Games Room with a snooker/pool table, an Xbox 360 games console and LCD TV. There is an open, log burning fireplace in the lounge, full oil-fired central heating to radiators, a 40" LCD TV in the lounge and TVs in all the bedrooms, 2 DVD/CD players, complimentary wireless Broadband Internet access and Sky+ High Definition TV. For summer, alfresco dining there is a large outdoor table with chairs and gas fired barbecue and grill. Adjacent to the house approached down our long, sweeping driveway, is a double garage with a powered door and extensive parking for at least 8 cars.

The estate is situated on the wonderful, sub-tropical, Helford Estuary in the heart of Cornwall's, Mediterranean-like, South Coast.
Falmouth / Budock Vean area
There are numerous places of interest and activities in the area for adults and children of all ages, including The Eden Project, The National Maritime Museum, The Flambards Theme Park, Roskillys Ice Cream & Organic Farm, Gweek Seal Sanctuary, The Poldark Mine Experience, The Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station Experience and watching the fast jets and helicopters at RNAS Culdrose. The Mediterranean-like south coast of Cornwall is well known for its sub-tropical climate and the internationally renowned gardens at Trebah and Glendurgan are within 1 mile of The Anchorage.
How to get there
Major improvements to the M5 motorway and the A30 expressway have made the car journey even easier with Bristol being a 2 hour drive, the West Midlands 3 hours and London and the South East 3.5 hours. Recent improvements to the main railway line into Cornwall have also shortened journey times and frequent, fast express services to Truro are operated by First Great Western and Virgin Trains. You can rent a car at Truro station (14 miles) or change at Truro onto the ‘Maritime Line’ branch train for the short journey to our local station at Penmere (4 miles) and rent a car from there. The Newquay South West Regional International Airport (26 miles) has enjoyed rapid growth and now features 6 airlines serving over a dozen destinations including London (Gatwick), London (Stansted), London (Luton), Manchester, Leeds/Bradford, Edinburgh and Dublin. Private flights may use Newquay International Airport or, by arrangement with the Royal Navy, the Culdrose Air Station (8 miles).

Further details indoors: Our fabulous, Private Heated Indoor, 'State of the Art' Pool and Spa with swim jets is invitingly positioned in the, air conditioned, spa room overlooking the creek and there are also opulent 14 jet, Jacuzzi-style, circular Whirlpool Baths in two of the master en-suite bathrooms. Use of a challenging 18-hole Golf Course and Tennis Courts are available (chargeable) at the adjacent hotel and the Fine Sandy Beach at Helford Passage is an easy walk away. Between Easter and the end of October, Complimentary use of a Motor Boat is provided for the duration of your stay or you can, of course, bring your own boat or jet-ski and moor it to our quay. Addional motor boat rental is also available. Explore the wonderful, Helford River tidal estuary or cruise for lunch or dinner at one of the chic, creek-side restaurants and pubs or simply just ‘mess about on the river’. With the ground floor containing 1 en-suite bedroom, 3 further bedrooms and a separate bathroom, The Anchorage is an ideal holiday venue for the disabled and people with limited mobility.
The estate is our family's much loved, private holiday home, we are not travel agents or tour operators and are proud to give personal, attentive service to our guests. We have put a lot of thought and work into making our vacation country house as sumptuous and as comfortable as possible and we do hope that you will decide to stay. Please do note that The Anchorage is never rented on a split basis and your reservation guarantees full, exclusive use of the whole estate, house and facilities. Additionally, all guests are supplied in advance with a copy of our detailed ‘Book of the House’ that contains comprehensive information and advice to make your holiday even more enjoyable.
Further details outdoors: There are numerous sandy beaches and coves between the house and Falmouth. Your own boat, dinghy, rib or jet-ski can be moored at our quay. We have our own slipway for launching dinghy’s and ribs and for larger, trailered boats and jet-skis, there is a public slipway in nearby Port Navas. Golf and tennis are available (chargeable) at the adjacent hotel.There is a superb local network of footpaths including the stunning South West Coast Path National Trail. Excellent fishing is available from our quay or from a boat and the creek is often full of Sea Bass. Local bicycle rental is available. Cornwall is a major world surfing destination and the Atlantic beaches at Newquay and Perranporth are within easy reach. Deep sea fishing and whale/dolphin watching trips can be arranged through Seague Charters.
