Creekle Cottage
About the home
An imposing house originally built for the Packet Captains in a Queen Anne style, Creekle Cottage has been in the family for many years and provides substantial and elegant holiday accommodation.
The house is set over 3 floors. Guests will love the cosy snug with open fire set into a large stone chimney breast, leather sofas and flat screen TV / DVD player. The original slate floor leads into the large kitchen. Well equipped with granite worktops and a table seating 6, cooks will appreciate the top quality appliances while parents can view the children playing in the private courtyard (also suitable for a more grown up glass of wine when they’ve gone to bed!) from the window.
A small conservatory leads into the outside space and also provides a light and warm place to store or dry beach items – this also houses the washing machine and tumble dryer.
A ground floor bedroom with twin single beds has a small flat screen TV and en-suite bathroom, which provides flexible accommodation for larger groups.
The elegant drawing room occupies the whole width of the first floor. Furnished in traditional style with original oil paintings, the 3 bay windows provide stunning views of the passing boats and the comings and goings of the quayside. You are more than welcome to wander over to the fishing boats when they land the catch and buy crabs, scallops and fish of the day – all right on your doorstep!
Tucked away in the corner of the drawing room is a wooden staircase which leads to the master bedroom suite. This is a wonderful light and airy space with spectacular views over water to Falmouth and en-large en-suite bathroom – the perfect place to relax, escape from the family, or snuggle up and watch the weather!
A further pretty double bedroom overlooks the courtyard. The large newly fitted family bathroom has a large bath with shower over – the perfect to relax the children before whisking them across the hall to their bedroom with bunk beds. This room is also suitable for a travel cot, which we are happy to provide.
With plenty of space to spread out, Creekle Cottage is the perfect family retreat – with bags of character and a picture-perfect location.

Flushing is perfectly placed to explore all of Cornwall. it is one known to be one of the warmest villages in the UK because it has an idyllic sheltered south-facing aspect, between the banks of the Penryn River and Falmouth Harbour.
It became popular in the eighteenth century as the choice location for the wealthy Packet Ship captains, and was visited by Admiral Nelson. Latterly it has become one of the most sought-after locations anywhere in the West Country. Flushing has an unrivalled mild climate, streets lined with picture-postcard traditional terraced fisherman’s cottages, and beautiful unspoilt surrounding countryside.
There is also easy access onto some of the best sailing waters anywhere in the West Country, with the Helford River, the Fal Estuary, Falmouth Bay and Mylor Yacht Harbour all within reach. Flushing also has a Sailing Club that welcomes guests.
The Falmouth / Flushing area
Many Cornish villages have become over crowded with tourists, but Flushing is much quieter, even during peak season, and it still benefits from a strong and vibrant community. The Flushing Regatta and Flushing Art Week are two annual fixtures not to be missed that the whole community embraces.
Flushing has two friendly pubs - The Standard, which was recently renovated and offers excellent food, and The Seven Stars, a more traditional pub with an equally extensive menu. There is also a super seafood restaurant located on the quay, and a friendly well-stocked general store.
A passenger ferry runs a regular service between Flushing and Falmouth. It also connects with the ferries to St Mawes, Mylor, Trelissick and Truro. In summer the Fal River boats offer trips to the gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan, and onwards to Truro. A local water taxi service also runs around the bay.
Many Cornish villages have become over crowded with tourists, but Flushing is much quieter, even during peak season, and it still benefits from a strong and vibrant community.
Unlike Mevagissey, Fowey, Padstow, St Ives and similar towns, parking is easily available, either outside the house or at the end of the street.
