Riverside is filled with light, and its large bright rooms have a contemporary, peaceful feel whilst still keeping its old character.

You enter through the huge old wooden front door into a small lobby, perfect for leaving coats and muddy boots. The generous hall leads into a large open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room with bleached wood style flooring. The new white kitchen is fully equipped with a large range of storage cabinets, and built-in appliances including dishwasher, microwave and a fan assisted oven. There is a washing machine and separate tumble drier tucked away in the airing cupboard. For dining there is a large oak table that seats six in comfort.

The sitting room is furnished with a lovely sofa and stylish chairs and a splendid modern wood burning stove which is perfect for holidays in the colder months, especially Christmas and New Year.

Following the passage around from the old sitting room you come into the new sitting room, This marvellous room with a vaulted ceiling, skylights and doors on both sides out leading out into the garden with glorious views across the river. It is furnished with two sumptuous sofas, a flat screen television, DVD player and there is a small library of books and DVDs in the house. Complimentary use of high-speed wireless broadband is also included.

There is also a shower room on the ground floor, fitted out in sleek white tiles, with a power shower, chrome fittings and full under floor heating.

Upstairs, bedroom one has twin beds and looks out to the front of the house, whilst bedroom two has a king size zipped and linked double bed with a Juliet balcony opening out to uninterrupted views along the river. This bedroom also has the advantage of a small seating area with two chairs and its own television.

The main family bathroom is spacious and fitted out in lustrous white and black tiling, chrome fittings and has a deep stand-alone bath for those long soaks, as well as a power shower and under floor heating.

The next floor has a spectacular new loft bedroom with amazing views out across and along the river. It has twin beds, television and a separate luxury en-suite shower room with bright white tiles, with a power shower, chrome fittings and full under floor heating.

Quality towels and bed linen are provided throughout and each bedroom also has a hair dryer and a Roberts DAB clock/radio.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Riverside has the rare advantage in Flushing of its own parking space on the quayside.

The house is situated in the heart of the village, the village store, pubs, popular local restaurant and the daily ferry across to Falmouth are on the doorstep. There are numerous sailing opportunities in the locality, and the house has its own out-haul.

Whether you are looking for a luxurious waterside house in which to relax and unwind, or a spacious seaside home for family holidays, Riverside in Flushing is the ideal base from which to explore the delights of Cornwall.

The West Country region

Flushing is perfectly placed to explore all of Cornwall. it is one known to be one of the warmest villages in the UK because it has an idyllic sheltered south-facing aspect, between the banks of the Penryn River and Falmouth Harbour.

It became popular in the eighteenth century as the choice location for the wealthy Packet Ship captains, and was visited by Admiral Nelson. Latterly it has become one of the most sought-after locations anywhere in the West Country. Flushing has an unrivalled mild climate, streets lined with picture-postcard traditional terraced fisherman's cottages, and beautiful unspoilt surrounding countryside.

There is also easy access onto some of the best sailing waters anywhere in the West Country, with the Helford River, the Fal Estury, Falmouth Bay and Mylor Yacht Harbour all within reach. Flushing also has a Sailing Club that welcomes guests, and it's own dog-friendly beach.

Falmouth

Many Cornish villages have become over crowded with tourists, but Flushing is much quieter, even during peak season, and it still benefits from a strong and vibrant community. The Flushing Regatta and Flushing Art Week are two annual fixtures not to be missed that the whole community embraces.

Flushing has two friendly pubs - The Standard, which was recently renovated and offers excellent food, and The Seven Stars, a more traditional pub with an equally extensive menu. There is also a super seafood restaurant located on the quay, and a friendly well-stocked general store.

A passenger ferry runs a regular service between Flushing and Falmouth. It also connects with the ferries to St Mawes, Mylor, Trelissick and Truro. In summer the Fal River boats offer trips to the gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan, and onwards to Truro. A local water taxi service also runs around the bay.
