Barn | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
Owl House is a peaceful retreat for two, deep in the countryside, but handy for Tremough, Falmouth, coastal walks, Helford River with its coves and inlets - and not too far away from the Lizard and the beaches of the north coast - and the Georgian towns of Helston and Truro. You can reach the nearest village of Constantine along the footpath which runs over fields and bluebell woods. Here you will find the Tolmen Centre, a community venue which hosts world class music and drama - and a thriving cinema!
The heavy horses which once worked Tresahor Vean Farm were stabled in what is now Owl House. Owl is at the west end of a courtyard of converted Victorian barns - and retains some of its traditional features, including the two huge arched entrances.
There is a hall, a large living room/kitchen (20' x 17') and an architect designed cedar extension with generous double bedroom and bathroom. A patio garden leads from the bedroom's double doors.
The house is well equipped, with good quality linen and kitchen equipment. There are prints, paintings and flowers. Furniture is mostly retro, from the many independent shops in Falmouth High Street. There is central heating and a wood burner with a generous supply of logs. We offer a welcome pack of a loaf of bread, butter, eggs, milk, tea, coffee and a few treats - so that you won't starve before you get to the shops!
Our seven acre holding is no longer agricultural, but is mostly planted to woodland. This is a place surrounded by green, where the stars fill the sky. You can hear the owls call, the songbirds sing and the buzzards mewing as they coast the thermal currents down the valley.

The West Country region
Cornwall is noted for its beautiful beaches and coves, and for its woodlands and rivers - and boasts twelve areas of outstanding natural beauty. It is the ideal holiday location for outdoor pursuits from gentle walking to abseiling and fishing. There are also plenty of historical and archeological sites to explore: castles, churches, stately homes and of course the art galleries, museums and world famous Eden Project.
Owl House is situated in the narrowest part of Cornwall, with easy access to both South and North Coasts and to the Helford River. It is an area reknowned for its watersports, birdwatching, coastal and country walking.
The nearest village of Constantine has its own riding stables and a museum and arts centre with a lively theatre, music and film programme, where, for example, the world famous Kneehigh theatre company launch their smaller productions! There are gardens (Glendurgan and Trebah for example) and art galleries to visit and good cooking to sample both locally, at the prize winning Trengilly Wartha pub or the Potager cafe.
Golfing, fishing and water sport centres, boat trips and a choice of beaches are all within a 8-10 km radius The nearest town is Falmouth with its own theatre and cinemas and family friendly art gallery - and the award winning Maritime Museum. Falmouth also has a wealth of independent shops, restaurants, cafes and waterside and beachside bars and eateries. And the Georgian towns of Helston and Truro are not too far away either!
