This is our family house and is a mid Victorian Terrace built in 1873 based in the medieval town of Penryn near to the Port of Falmouth. The house has 4 bedrooms which are three double (one on the ground floor leading to the outside courtyard) and one single with bunk beds. There is a living room, and kitchen diner, a back courtyard leading to the main road, a garden at the front of the house with a gas barbecue and table and chairs, and there is a designated parking place outside of the house for one car. We are letting our home while we are away so this is not a traditional holiday home. We also have a cat in residence so any visitors would have to be not allergic to cats and cat friendly and happy to feed him while we are away! He is a very friendly and loving cat and use to children. As a result we are letting the house at a lower market rate to reflect this and also that the house is not to "holiday home" standards but is homely and in a great location with views to the Penryn estuary and countryside. More internal pictures yet to download. House has electric and gas metre to be topped up by guests. Guests to bring own bedding and towels (duvets and pillows provided). Available from the 30th August until the 6th September. Price reduced for this week so pick up a last minute deal!

The West Country region

Penryn is possibly one of the oldest towns in Cornwall and is steeped with character and history. Located on a hill with spectacular views overlooking Falmouth and the Carrick Roads, it is one of the best kept secrets of the area, although the news is spreading!

The town centre is dominated by a clock tower which is surrounded by shops, cafes, art galleries and local amenities including two banks and a Post Office.

Falmouth which is nearby is a popular tourist destination with spectaclar views and scenery centred around the Carrick Roads waterways. With its Georgian Town Houses lining the hills around the harbour there are many characterful streets to explore on foot whilst enjoying the panoramic views.

The town of Falmouth is most well known for its harbour, which is the third deepest natural harbour in the world, and the deepest in Western Europe. These waterways provide much of the industry and entertainment in the area, the ship yards are internationally renouned and are central for the marine industry in the area. For leisure you will see many cruisers, yachts, dingys and the popular gig rowing boats making their way around the harbour.

In 2009, Falmouth played host to the famous Tall Ships which visited Falmouth harbour for the first time in its history, bringing in waves of tourists from all over the world.

Penryn is also near to the Helford Passage famous for Daphne Du Maurier Frenchman's Creek.

Falmouth

The idyllic town of Penryn is a perfect destination for holidaymakers seeking a relaxing break.

Situated on the Penryn river around a mile from Falmouth, the town boasts many historic buildings and beautiful views of the harbour.

Founded in 1216, Penryn today offers many delights including a small but vibrant set of shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants as well as an appealing clock tower in the town centre. Penryn's town hall also houses a museum.

For those travelling by car, our Penryn holiday homes also offer an ideal base from which to visit numerous nearby areas of interest and attractions including many beautiful sandy beaches.

The train station is only a 5 minute walk away with a very good service to Falmouth and Truro. The town is about a 10 minute walk. There are shops in the town for provisions or the local supermarket is only a 5 minute drive away. The town also has a very good bus service.
