The West Country region

With its mild climate and breathtaking scenery Cornwall has recently been voted by people from all over Britain, the UK's best holiday destination at the British Travel Awards. It has a varied coastline with its spectacular cliffs, hidden coves and world renowned north coast surf.

There is plenty to do in Cornwall to suit all, such as the Barbara Hepworth museum and Tate at St Ives, the Eden Project and Lost gardens of Heligan. For those with children, there is Crealy Adventure Park, Flambards Amusement Park as well as numerous castles and museums.

Idyllic waterside villages such as St Mawes, Flushing and Helford, are all accessible by boat trips/ferries from Falmouth, where you can also venture out on fishing trips or a sea safari to see anything from Dolphins, Seals or Basking Sharks.

You can also catch the river trip to Truro taking in the fantastic scenery of the River Fal.

The Snug is ideally situated for Falmouth town, Events Square/Maritime Museum and beautiful beaches. There are a wide range of restaurants and bars in Falmouth including Rick Steins which is situated just at the end of the road. Within the Events Square there numerous bars and restaurants where you can sit out, relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

There are three main beaches which cater for all your needs including rock pools, water sports, sailing (including tuition) and beach restaurants/bars. If you enjoy walking, then you are in the perfect location for checking out the beautiful views from some of the finest coastal paths that Cornwall has to offer.

There is also one of the finest golf courses in the country which boasts some spectacular views across Falmouth Bay and just a five minute drive away, although it is most definitely within walking distance from The Snug.

Falmouth hosts many festivals throughout the year and 2014 will stage the Tall Ships Regatta at the end of August.

"renovated to a high standard, The Snug has everything you need. Great position for town and beach. Great hosts."

Sarah and Brian were very thoughful and welcoming hosts. The Snug has a high quality finish but bathroom is something special. Beach and Falmouth are within a short walk so you do not need a car.
