About the home

Ducktails is the middle of three cottages converted from the old blacksmiths forge. The property is full of character, has many authentic features and is part Norfolk flint and red brick.
The interior of the property has recently been re-decorated throughout with some new replacement furnishings to provide a comfortable and cosy stay. We have also improved the rear garden, making subtle changes, to the current landscaping where the new improvements are sympathetic to the cottages surroundings and location. The rear enclosed garden also benefits from a sunny sheltered aspect, a lawn area as well as a patio. This is a great area for children and pets.
The sitting room, with its original timber beams, contains a large inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove which quickly warms the room providing a lovely cosy place to relax on those cold winter days or at the end of a long day on the beach.
The kitchen is suitably equipped for the preparation of most meals where you will find everyday cooking utensils. For al fresco lifestyle there is also a barbeque in the garden which is great for those summer evenings.
The bathroom, which is downstairs, has a wide bath and an electric shower above it. The bathroom has a fan heater for instant heat.
The two bedrooms are upstairs. The master bedroom has a double bed, large chest of drawers, wardrobe cupboard and bedside table. The twin bedroom has two single beds, a chest of drawers and bedside table.

The small River Burn

The East Anglia / Norfolk region

Situated in the east of England just south of the Wash. North Norfolk is recognised by its beautiful smooth undulating land form which gently rolls into the north sea.

The Fakenham / South Creake area

South Creake is a delightful village. Just along the road is a large playing field with a safe children's playground. There are public tennis courts about 50m away and the local pub, which is well known in the area for its ambience, delicious food and local ales is a short walk away. It is easy to access local walks straight from the cottage, especially good for those who bring their dog. There is cycle hire available in South Creake itself.
The area around South Creake has many high class restaurants and pubs to suit every taste.
About 10 minutes drive from the cottage is Burnham Market. This is a wonderful place to visit with lots of specialist shops and art galleries. There are many other lovely villages to visit such as Holt and Cley, each with its own character. The area really is a shopper's paradise with many specialist shops of all kinds.
