Hawthorn Cottage is a perfect family retreat. Very much a second home, it has all the comforts with a large private garden. Set in a peaceful village in beautiful countryside there are lovely walks and nearby woods but still only 20 minutes from the golden sands of Holkham. Centrally located, it is easy to go west to Hunstanton, Brancaster and Thornham and east to Blakeney, Cromer and Sheringham. Also nearby is the lovely small town of Burnham Market with its upmarket shops, tea rooms and the Hoste Arms. Closer to hand is the market town of Fakenham with its traditional weekly market and Fakenham Racecourse. There are many places of interest to visit and ifor the more adventurous in the nearby woods is the high rope challenge, Extreeme.

Hawthorn Cottage has a large sitting room with two sofas (one a sofabed) and a cosy wood burning stove. There are games, books and a selection of videos and DVDs. Off of the pretty kitchen (which has an external door) there is a dining room with easy seating for 6. There is a seperate lavatory and bathroom with a shower over the bath. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one double with a comfortable kingsize bed. In the second bedroom are two sets of bunk beds, one of which is built in and slightly shorter so would suit children up to around 10/12.

The large garden is set seperately to the cottage (very common in Norfolk!). No roads are involved and it is just a few yards down a grass path. In the garden is a trampoline with safety netting, tyre swings, table and chairs and recliners. There is also a bbq.

The East Anglia region

North Norfolk is a beautiful area of England with huge, dramatic skies, lovely countryside and fantastic sandy beaches.

It is possible to enjoy walking and swimming and to cycle, golf and sail to name but a few.

You can visit stately homes, craft centres, market towns and view an enormous array of birdlife.You can also take boats out to visit the seals offshore. There is a steam train, coastal hopper bus and wonderful pubs and restaurants.

Fakenham

Helhoughton is a quiet, peaceful village surrounded by lovely countryside for great walks. Nearby is Fakenham Racecourse where there are National Hunt races and point to points. There is also a traditional weekly market. In the forest nearby is a high ropes adventure course with the longest zip wire in the area for the more adventurous!

Only 20 minutes away are the wonderful beaches of Holkham and Wells with great crabbing and fantastic fish and chips!

Easy to reach are Blakeney and Cley with its beautiful windmill.

Nice homely cottage in very quiet hamlet. Very comfy king-size bed! Able to park car on street nearby & directly outside cottage for the time it took to unload at start of stay & pack up at the end.… More
