Sussex Holiday Cottage for Couples.

Frostbourne is close to Fairlight situated just five miles from the ancient towns of Rye, Hastings and Battle. Located in an area known as "The Firehills" which is part of Hastings Country Park, it is a Special Area of Conservation. The park is over 660 acres of ancient woodland and grassland, home to rare mosses home of a population of dormice. Outstanding in the spring with displays of bluebells, wood anemones and yellow archangels that carpet the woodland floor, it is a haven for birdwatchers and wildlife. Various pottery fragments and flint tools have been recovered from the park including the remains of Stone Age, Iron Age and Romano-British settlements. The East Hill is designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument because of the Iron Age Hill Fort that once overlooked the busy Hastings port c400BC.As with most villages in this area, smuggling was a popular pastime and goods were landed at Fairlight and brought inland by a tunnel. At the turn of the century a local gun battery practised firing at Fairlight which probably gave rise to the name "The Firehills" and nearby Battery Hill.

Frostbourne is located down a country lane that has tractors occasionally passing by from the farm next door. A delightful country property that has recently been built and is situated on the first floor above the car lodge and in the grounds of the old Winterstow Farm House in Fairlight, East Sussex. Ideal as your own cottage for couples, self-catering or Bed and Breakfast accommodation.

Frostbourne is entered via an outside flight of stairs with a small decking area at the top outside the stable door that has a café style table and chairs. A great place to sit out on during those warmer evenings and enjoy the wonderful views and wildlife across the fields. Enter into the property through the stable door that allows you to leave the top half open during the day whilst you are staying in the property.

The open plan area is comfortable and airy with a small kitchen area, table and chairs, sofa and a comfy double bed. There are two Velux windows in the ceiling that provide additional light to the living areas.The kitchen is well equipped for everything during your stay and has an electric two ring hob and a microwave with an oven and grill, kettle, toaster and fridge with an ice box. The table located under one of the Velux windows has a flap to make it larger and there are two matching chairs. The 24” TV is located on the table and has an in-built DVD player with Freeview and WiFi is available. The leather sofa offers a great place to relax and there is a large mirror over the coffee table.

The double bed has two bedside table and lights and there is a chest of drawers and cupboard to store your clothes. There is also a Digital radio to be used during your stay. The ensuite shower room has a basin, mirror with overhead light, shower, heated towel rail and WC.

There is no washing machine at Frostbourne, however, the owners are very happy to wash and dry your clothes during your stay.

Frostbourne is a lovely, compact holiday property and has everything you need to enjoy some time away from it all, together with a charcoal BBQ in the garden to be used during your stay.

There will be a welcome basket with some local produce that will change through the seasons and on arrival there will be an initial supply of milk, tea and coffee and a small supply of herbs and oil for cooking.


There is parking for one car during your stay.

Strictly no smoking in this property. This property does not accept pets. Prices include bed linen, bath towels, all utilities, pre-arrival and departure cleaning and a welcome pack.

The changeover day for weekly bookings is Friday in high season. Other start days may be possible on request in the low and mid-season. Short breaks may commence on any day. There is a £24 booking fee per holiday and a £250 security deposit is required prior to arrival which can be pre-authorised on a credit/debit card.
