Highly recommended villa in the heart of Provence
Review Submitted: October 6, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
We rented the villa over an extended week-end for a get-together of 10 friends.
The house is in excellent condition, extremely clean, and quite nicely decorated. It comes with a large swimming pool and a huge backyard - great for all kind of sports. The 5 bedrooms with dedicated bathrooms, the large living room and kitchen are perfect.
The location is only a few kilometers out of the village of Eygalieres and is therefore both very quiet and practical. From the house, you also get a perfect view on the Alpilles and wonderful sunsets.
Finally the owner is very nice and helpful. We all very much enjoyed our stay in this wonderful villa.
Owner's Response: A great feature of the house is that it lies in the middle of a no-construction area (five years ago four acres were needed to build) that extends to the famous Chapelle Saint-Sixte which is a ten minute walk away.
As a result, the area is much less densely built than other areas of Eygalieres (properties here have four acres and above).
No houses or neighbors are visible from the house or its property.
The village of Eygalieres is less than a five minute drive or fifteen minute walk (1.5 kilometer/not quite 1 mile).

Gourmet Group Holiday
Review Submitted: October 20, 2011 Date of Stay: September 2011
The actual location and surroundings of the villa far exceeded our expectations! There were 5 couples who are a gourmet dinner group in Denver, CO and the villa was perfect with 5 bedrooms and 6 baths! We loved the spaciousness of the areas for eating; 3 available for 10 people. It was extremely clean, and had all the needed amenities for our week stay. The grounds and pool were well maintained and the view of the mountains, spectacular! Plenty of room for all of the cars. The owner stopped by a few times, very friendly and was checking if we had everything we needed. On the last day, he came over quite early to take a group picture, which was greatly appreciated. We would recommend this property in an instant! It is perfect for a large group! Activities: swimming in lovely pool, many settings to just relax and read, loved being able to cook our gourmet dinners in the evening! Attractions; don't miss Eygalieres market day,, and the many wonderful towns in the area. We would explore hilltowns during the day and return for dinner. Marvelous winery down the road for a great tasting adventure! NO DISLIKES!!!

Our amazing week in Provence
Review Submitted: October 5, 2011 Date of Stay: September 2011
Our five couple travel group was very fortunate to have reserved this amazing villa on the outskirts of Eygalieres, Provence. The on-line photos only offer a glimpse into the beauty and comfort of this charming home. We particularly enjoyed the morning sights of the nearby mountains, the spacious garden area and the seclusion of this expansive property. Our day trips included excursions to Avignon, Gordes, L'Isle sur la Sorgue and the Chateaunu de pape wine region. Whether relaxing by the pool, reading on the veranda or enjoying a home cooked meal, not a day passsed we didn't throroughly enjoy. We are greatful to our host for his help in orienting us to the many sights and experiences the region has to offer and for contributing to a vacation adventure trip that will stay in our respective memories for years to come.

Everything you could want
Review Submitted: September 6, 2011 Date of Stay: August 2011
We have stayed at this property for the last three years and have no hesitation in recommending it as a superb holiday location. The house is well equiped and this year, in particular, the air-conditioning has been a god-send.
The eating and seating areas outside work well and the pool is of good size and well kept.
In previous years we had tried a number of rental properties in both Italy and France and changed each year. Having settled on Eygalieres, each year we wonder if we should try something new, but on arrival know that we will be booking for another year.
Finally I should mention that the owners are both friendly and very helpful. Any query or problem is immediately addressed

Home Away
Review Submitted: July 11, 2011 Date of Stay: June 2011
This house is truly a "home away".
After a few hours everyone in our family, adults as well as children, felt at home in this magnificent house.
All rooms in the house and the outdoor facilities are well equipped. The outdoor dining facility was the natural center of our stay, with plenty of seating space and a great view of the garden with Les Alpilles mountains in the background.
The garden is beautiful and so big, that you get a feeling of being totally undisturbed.
The pool and the area around it was great, lots of deckchairs and other chairs, shadeoptions and safetygates.
Eygalieres is a beautiful village, where you can get bread, groceries and meat. Within an hours drive, there are plenty of places to visit.
When we left, everyone agreed, that they would like to come back to this beautiful place. Can you get a better recommendation?

Artist's Paradise
Review Submitted: June 6, 2011 Date of Stay: May 2011
We found a little piece of heaven when nine women artists rented
Mas des Deux Puits, just a mile or two outside of Eygaliares. Located in the heart of provence, it was easy access to some of the most picturesque views and villages in France. We followed in the footsteps of Van Gogh and Cezanne to photograph and paint the historical villages and beautiful countryside, stopping along the way to taste the wine at local vineyards.
The owners were so helpful, the accommodations very satisfying and the swimming pool in the afternoons most delightful. We all hope to return some day. It was beyond our expectations.

Heaven on Earth
Review Submitted: October 18, 2010 Date of Stay: October 2010
My wife and I and another two couples just returned from a magnificent stay at this lovely villa in the heart of Provence. The villa is breathtaking as is the scenery. The bedrooms are very roomy and the bathrooms are modern and spacious. The kitchen is loaded with everything you need to prepare any meal. The dining areas are as advertised in that there is a formal dining area and a well equipped, covered area just off the kitchen which is open to the outside. Grilling outdoors has never been such fun.
The property owners could have not been more helpful. We were presented with a list containing the best restaurants in the area, the names of the best patisseries and the local butcher. A blackboard in the kitchen enumerated all the local market days, including the fish market day in Eygaleires. The owners have done evrything in their power to make this villa all about you.
I have been renting villas in Europe for several years and found this one to be the best. If you truly want to get a feel for Provence, then this is the place for you.

Great place to relax after exploring Provence
Review Submitted: September 20, 2010 Date of Stay: September 2010
This beautiful and well-equipped home is the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Provence. Easy driving distance to Nimes, Tarascon, Aix-en-Provence, Arles, St-Remy, Les Baux and other destinations. The village of Eygalieres has a good charcuterie, boulangerie and epicerie as well as a couple of good restaurants, so eating out or cooking at home are options. Plenty of wineries nearby offer tasting and sales. This home is comfortable for four adult couples, with room to spare. The outdoor dining area and pool were well-used during our stay. Our hosts were helpful when needed but did not hover. I highly recommend Mas des deux puits.

This beautiful villa, set in the breathtaking Alpilles hills, is every bit as gorgeous as its photos and the listing description suggest. The villa has a much more generously stocked kitchen than most; the bedrooms are clean and inviting, and the living room is spacious and airy. The swimming pool is clean and the grounds are well maintained. The owners were more than helpful and their son went above and beyond to drive my fiance and me to the TGV station in Avignon.
I wholeheartedly recommend the villa as an ideally situated vacation rental, conveniently close to numerous places of interest including Avignon, Nimes, Tarascon, Arles, St. Remy de Provence, Glanum, Les Baux, the Vaucluse, the Var and a host of picturesque villages, including the charming village of Eygalieres.
Eygalieres, about a mile from the villa, has groceries, bakeries, and a good butcher. There is an outdoor market in the main street on Saturdays.
I never ate at a restaurant I didn't like. In Eygalieres my favorites are Micocouliers and Aubergine.
If you don't mind a good hour's drive, visit Vinsobres (near Vaison La Romaine) in the mountainous Var region, and drop by the Domaine de Jaume for superior wines that are certainly worth the trip. The scenery is magnificent and Vinsobres is a spectacularly pretty village with its stone houses and narrow, cobblestone streets.
A course Camarguaise (a bull game) is a good way to mop up the spirit of the region, and animal rights champions can rest assured that the bulls emerge with all their dignity and no harm done in this very Provencal tradition. Try to see a game in the fabulous Roman amphitheater in Nimes. It's easy to imagine another audience, two thousand years ago, cheering other spirited bulls and human performers, though those games would have been in stark contrast to the benign French version.
The Roman ruins at Glanum, outside St. Remy, afford another memorable experience. The tomb and triumphal arch outside the ruined city are amazingly well preserved.
Bonnes vacances!

The Villa lives up to the glowing reviews. It is an ideal place to spend a holiday; lots of outside space to lounge around in (no less than three different tables to eat alfresco!), beautiful grounds, fabulous views ...... The inside is a little dated but it is light, airy and comfortable.
It works well for all ages but is particularly good for a family holiday as the pool is gated so you can let young children wander around the garden without having to worry about their safety.
