Enjoy a family break in Suffolk and explore a UK county that has so much happening, from hidden walking and cycle routes to festivals, events and farmers' markets. In Suffolk, tourism is all about fun, indulgence and creating experiences to remember.

A great location to explore Suffolk/Norfolk from, the farmhouse is 4 miles from the market town of Diss,with its picturesque Mere,Park,individual shops and Corn Hall which has cultural events

Every Friday there are antique and other Sales at Diss Auction Rooms ( and a market in the town centre.

There's a park with a children's play area, a public swimming pool and a golf course.

Close by at Bressingham is Blooms Nursery and Steam Museum, and also nearby is Banham Zoo.

Discover the BROADS...only 20 minutes away,hire a boat from Beccles.

A 45 minute drive away is the popular coastal town of Southwold with long beach & pier and its many shops including,FatFace,Joules,Crew, and Collen & Clare and the home of Adnams fine ales and eating places.

Also within easy reach is Walberswick,Snape Maltings,Minsmere and Dunwich

A 1hour 15 minute drive to the beautiful North Norfolk beaches of Holkham (voted best British beach 2011 and the fantastic surrounding area.

An hour drive to Swaffham (location for the Stephen Fry series Kingdom), a 20 minute drive to Thetford Forest including High Lodge (the forestry commission's premier recreation site in the East of England ).

Constables country is just a 30 minute drive and visit Stratford and Lavenham for wonderful sightseeing and a leisurely lunch.


Oakley is a village located about 5 minutes by car from Eye or a leisurely twenty minute stroll from the door along a tree lined Avenue. Nearby is the Historic Cornwallis Arms Hotel where you can enjoy food and drinks and enjoy the lovely grounds.

The Historic market town of Eye with its 152 Grade 2 listed buildings, Castle and Church,has a variety of shops of interest and a library, pub, bank,delicatessen,takeaways,cafes and good restaurant.

There are also fishing lakes nearby and plenty of tracks and country roads to explore on bike rides and walks as well as nature reserves and lots of good quality pubs in the area.

Thornham Walks and Coachhouse Restaurant 7min drive

Hoxne village is a 5min drive and has a shop and a pub serving excellent food,The Swan is Grade II listed and was built back in 1480 by the Bishop of Norwich.

Thanks for your lovely review, we are really glad you had a fab time.....we have had several comments about not having a fire, the chimney needs a lot of work and has always been out of use, so we have taken on board our guests comments and a new wood burning stove is being fitted 29/1/2014 which we are really pleased about so thanks! The wifi is sometimes on and off when really windy, we are right at the end of the exchange but we have had good connection mostly. We are hopefully going to be getting up to 20mb in 2014! Hope to see you again soon.
