The East Anglia / Suffolk region

Picturesque clusters of stone cottages, rolling Fens, unspoilt beaches, and pretty waterways – East Anglia is a dream holiday destination. Norfolk offers unspoilt beaches, saltmarshes, picturesque cliffs, and quaint flint villages. The pretty, popular resorts of Blakeney & Wells form part of the largest coastal nature reserve in England and Wales, where you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of common and grey seals, along with abundant birdlife. Families can enjoy the popular tourist resort of Great Yarmouth, enjoy the thrills and spills at Pleasurewood Hills theme park, or roam the cycle paths and sculpture trail at Thetford Forest (not forgetting the‘Go Ape’ high wire adventure centre in the heart of the forest).

Cromer is well known for its pier and crabs, or how about Sheringham, from where you can ride on a steam train to the delightful town of Holt, with its specialist shops and charming market place? Equally as charming are the coastline and countryside of Suffolk. Historic sites such as Sutton Hoo and Framlington Castle sit alongside museums, high-wire adventure trails, beautiful gardens and bustling market towns, amidst lovely countryside with plentiful walking and cycle paths. The coastline of the area is popular with families, and the whole region has a very strong arts movement, with plenty of work by local artists on display and available to purchase.

Eye area

With a number of shops, pubs and restaurants, the small town of Eye is a well-served settlement located in the heart of East Anglia. With monthly cinema nights held at the community centre, this charming settlement is just five miles away from the market town of Diss in the beautiful Waveney Valley. With examples of Georgian and Edwardian buildings as well as an award winning museum and the public park, Eye is a thriving community offering plenty to do. There is a market every Friday and usually coincides with a local antiques and collectables auction.

The town of Stowmarket is close by and provides an 18-hole golf course along with Suffolk's only open-air museum and a variety of shops and pubs. The Suffolk Coast, Thetford Forest with its Go Ape high wire experience and the Steam Museum at Bressingham are all within easy driving distance.

Guestbook for 2582

"The property was ideal for what we wanted . a quiet time with easy access to the garden for our 6 mth old puppy and nice places to take him for a walk. It had easy access to the meadows on the farm. Great not to have to take the car for early morning casual strolls. A beautiful cottage and very home from home. We cannot rate it highly enough."

"The location of The Bothy was perfect - very peaceful and the birds, rabbits and squirrels provided us with lots of entertainment. We particularly liked the opportunity to walk our dog (and let her have a good chase about)in the fields on the farm without worrying about traffic."
