About the home

Enquire nowThe West Country / Devon region
This area of Devon is known to have a mild climate and, being at the start of the Jurassic coast (world heritage site), has magnificent views and coastal walks. The South West Coast path follows the coast here although the Starcross ferry can be used to save a walk up to Exeter and back down the estuary. Devon is easily accessible via the M5, A303/A30 or Exeter airport but is also a relaxing and refreshing place for holidaying, particularly by the coast.
The Exmouth / Exmouth Marina and Sea Front area
Exmouth sits on the South West Coast Path, at the oldest part of the Jurassic coast which continues all the way through to Lyme Regis. It is an ideal base for walking, boating or a family sea-side holiday. Exmouth is a centre for watersports and there is also opportunity to learn sports such as kite surfing, sailing, wind surfing and kayaking. For the thrill seekers, Crealy adventure park is a short drive away, whilst there are historic buildings such as A LaRonde (NT) and Powerderham Castle nearby for a more relaxed explore.
The railway hugs the estuary and is a pleasant way to visit Exeter with it's cathedral and Quay area, also to continue on, along the coast to Dawlish, Teignmouth and Torquay. All easily reachable and a picturesque journey too.
Exmouth itself has many blue plaque properties (some along the same road as Beaches view) and still has a working harbour where shell fish and award winning mussells are caught for all over the world. Fishing trips or pleasure trips can be taken from the seafront or marina. Alternatively you could just sample the fresh catch at local restaurants in the town.
For cyclists there is a cycleway along the esplanade and through to Lympstone but it is soon to be completed to Exeter so that no on-road cycling will be necessary. Bikes can be hired locally, including trailer bikes for young children. With children's playpark, donkeys on the beach (in Summer), pitch and put and miles of golden sands, Exmouth is an ideal family holiday town.
The Exmouth area is also noted for the wildfowl and birds who winter in the area. During the winter season, bird spotting boat trips can be taken up the estuary to see those sheltering on Dawlish Warren nature reserve. The local railway line is named after one of the more common visitors - the Avocet line.
Horse riding is available on Woodbury common, along with a nearby golf course and other sports facilities. The Pavilion and gardens are immediately below the property and host various events throughout the year, catering for all ages and tastes as well as hosting a cafe/restaurant.

A very nice appartment that was clean and well equiped. The location was perferct, about 10 mins walk from the town and 3 mins walk from the beach. Response: Thankyou for your favourable comments. Our cleaner takes pride in keeping the apartment clean and we try to ensure everything you could want for a relaxing stay is provided, but it's always nice to receive feedback that it's working! |
