The Devon region

Whether you are looking for a relaxing family holiday on the two miles of golden sandy beach, leisure activities such as kite surfing or bird watching on the idyllic Exe estuary or enjoying the stunning scenery of the majestic World Heritage Jurassic Coast, or a base to enjoy the best of Devon and the Westcountry, then Exmouth is the place your dreams come to life.

Exmouth is a lively town, situated on the east coast of Devon, where the River Exe meets the sea. The town offers a diverse selection of shops, places to eat and things to do, including top quality water sports such as windsurfing and kitesurfing, internationally-acclaimed nature reserves and unique cultural events as well as two miles of stunning beach that are a joy whatever the weather.

Exmouth Marina and Sea Front

A cycle path takes you all the way along the seafront, and up the beautiful Exe estuary to the picture-postcard village of Lympstone and beyond to Exeter. Hire a bike in the town, there’s plenty of choice.

For cyclists and walkers who fancy a more vigorous route, follow the cycle path towards Budleigh Salterton then head onto Woodbury Common for an off-road adventure exploring the fantastic Devon countryside, with views across to Sidmouth, across the Exe and even to the far distant Somerset levels. The iron-age fort is a magical location, steeped in ancient history.

Keep an eye out for the great events that regularly happen in Exmouth. The annual arts and music festival is a major attraction, the autumn illuminated carnival, the kite festival the Christmas Cracker and the Christmas Day swim (yes really, it’s a huge event with hundreds of bathers) are all experiences that will stay in the memory forever.

New Year’s Eve in Exmouth is a night not to be missed. The whole town turns out in fancy dress and you will stick out like a sore thumb in “normal clothes.” Indeed Exmouth is regularly voted in the top five places in the UK to spend New Year, with fireworks on the seafront marking the New Year.

Come and see the British countryside in miniature with 20 trains weaving their way through 115 scale miles of varied landscape at Exmouth Model Railway. The Model railway is over 40 years old and remains a firm favourite to visitors from all over the world. Then of course there are several great golf courses, boat trips, the marina, fishing, cinema, boating lake, tennis, bowls, cricket, crazy golf and donkey rides.

But don’t forget to leave time to just sit, relax and watch the world go by and the sunset across distant Haldon Hills. Possibly whilst sampling one of the local ales or wines in the variety of bars, prior to making the most of Exmouth’s vibrant nightlife.

We were fortunate enough to get the apartment at a discount, because as it accommodates 6 it would normally have been too expensive just for two of us. I think we were among the first few visitors - it's all absolutely lovely, from the decor and furnishings to the supply of fresh eggs from Heidi's own hens. Parking is a mega-bonus as spaces are rare around the area. Easy walk either into Exmouth town centre or to the estuary and Marina. First time we've paid a security deposit but the £100 was returned to our bank account very quickly. In fact ideal all round - would definitely recommend very highly and would love to go again if there's a 2-person (or any kind) of discount! Thank you Mark & Heidi

Thank you for your comments, we will be only too pleased to offer discounts in the future for couples staying. Keep an eye on our availability and contact us if your would like a quote. Heidi & Mark

"Beautifully Presented Apartment"

Beautifully presented apartment within walking distance of beach, town centre, train and bus stations. We had to visit Exmouth at short notice (6 adults) and were really pleased to find this superb apartment which was equipped to a very high standard with everything you would need for a self catering vacation. Master bedroom was stunning (great shower). Heidi & Mark were great from start to finish and security deposit was returned promptly.

"Lovely well equipped holiday apartment close to beach and all facilities"

We've just arrived back from a relaxing week away in Exmouth (even with energetic 3 year old grandson!) Quay View is a tastefully decorated and extremely well equipped holiday apartment. On arrival there was a bottle of wine along with tea coffee milk, bacon and eggs waiting for us. The complimentary toiletries were a nice touch too. There were plenty of games, DVDs and music available to suit all 3 generations. It was great to relax on the balcony in the sun after a day out. We hired bikes to ride the Exe Estuary bike track to Starcross (about 15 miles) and caught the ferry back to Exmouth. It was a good trip with stunning views and not too taxing, stopping at the Turf Hotel for tasty lunch. The owners Heidi and Mark were there to meet us and for the handover at the end. they couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.
