An extremely comfortable country cottage, located in the centre of Porlock but in a peaceful enclave. Its location, just a moments walk to all amenities, to the coast and the moor with renowned walking, stunning views and abundance of wildlife, nature trails, streams and the famous Red Deer and Exmoor ponies. A variety of country pursuits available, National Trust villages to explore nearby and the sandy beaches of North Devon just a drive away. Private parking outside the property is ideal and a lovely open fire makes this a very cosy cottage during the winter months. Both twin and kingsize beds have gorgeous linen and feather pillows. A sunny south-facing patio garden with garden furniture all provide for an extremely relaxing holiday. Our guest book reviews are proof that guests love this house and the area.

One twin room and one double room. There is an open fire in the living room and a large family bathroom, with shower. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. There is night-storage heating and whilst the cottage is warm enough, we always suggest packing your slippers! A southfacing patio with garden furniture for alfresco dining. Private parking for one car immediately to the front of the cottage. A few moments walk from the shops (including a grocery shop, butchers, cheese shop, chemist, art gallery, coffee/tea shops and a few antique shops). There are several country pubs and restaurants in the village and also at nearby Porlock Weir. Please note, we do NOT have internet or WiFi.

Dogs by arrangement (max 2 dogs only) and a charge of £20 per dog, per week.
In order to continue to provide beautiful accommodation to all our guests, please do not allow your dog on the furniture nor anywhere upstairs.

This property is strictly no smoking.
Bookings are Saturday to Saturday. Short breaks by arrangement (minimum 3 nights)
25% of the rental fee is due when making a booking; the remainder (together with a refundable breakages deposit of £100) is due 8 weeks prior to the start date of your holiday.

The West Country and in particular West Somerset/North Devon has beautiful countryside and fabulous sandy beaches - found at Croyde and Woolacombe. The Exmoor National Park is a haven for wildlife in particular the Exmoor ponies and Red Deer. A host of country pursuits are available, such as riding, walking (Tarka the Otter trail, Two Moors Way etc), sailing, fishing, cycling, golf and coastal cruises to name a few. Exmoor is the home to Culbone Church, one of the smallest in England. The village of Dunster is closeby with historic Dunster Castle, tea shops and galleries. Selworthy, Allerford and Bossington being National Trust villages closeby to explore. Porlock is said to have a micro climate which provides for a long holiday season from April to October.
The Exmoor / Porlock area
Porlock (with the infamous Porlock Hill!) is situated in the Exmoor National Park famed for its beauty. Heather covered moorland, beautiful woodland, stunning scenery and an abundance of wildlife (including Red deer). There are National Trust villages to explore such as Selworthy and Bossington with their thatched cottages and tea rooms, wonderful walks in the wooded valleys of Horner Water and Hawkcombe to the picturesque valley of Oare, famous for the story of Lorna Doone. Dunkery Beacon marks the highest point on Exmoor and west Exmoor offers the trail of Tarka the Otter.
