Barn | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
North Wheddon Farm is an ideal base to access the Exmoor and Devon area with fantastic coastline, moorland and woodland just minutes way. The scenery from North Wheddon and the surrounding area is simply stunning. The farm has a natural harmony with a gentle rhythm of bygone times with eggs to collect, animals to pat, there's always something to see, with plenty of space and time to enjoy.
Farthingwood Barn comfortably sleeps up to six people. Large and spacious, perfect for families or couples who want that little bit extra. There is a cobbled area where our farmyard friends wander freely so there is always something to admire! At the rear of the property there is a garden which overlooks the lower paddock, where you will find more friendly farm animals, duck pond, and a truly fantastic view. Parking is to the side of the property. We set out to furnish the barn in a rustic country style whilst paying attention to what we believe will make your holiday relaxing and memorable.
Inside, on the ground floor, you will find a large kitchen/dining room, living room, shower and toilet and a bedroom which can be made up as either a twin or super king.
Upstairs at either end of this L- shaped barn we have two large bedrooms. One is the master double bedroom which has an en-suite toilet and bathroom. The other large bedroom can either be a super king size or a twin. See our Virtual Tour on our website for a walk around and to see some helpful floor plans.

The West Country region
Exmoor is one third Devon and two thirds Somerset. Both of these counties have a lot to offer. Famous for pork, cider, apples and clotted cream, great produce is never far away! There are many local producers including, Thatchers Cider, Nutcombe Chocolates, Cheddar Cheese and Styles ice cream.
The area has some stunning scenery and is varied across the region, from the flat of the Somerset levels to steep hills of Exmoor and the rolling hills of Devon. It is predominantly rural with a few towns and cities. The West Country is home to Britains smallest city of wells and the vibrant Glastonbury as well as medieval dunster and coastal Minehead.
Whether you are looking for a quiet getaway somewhere seculded, adventure or family attractions the west country has it all.
Situated in the south west of Britain, Exmoor National Park contains an amazing variety of landscapes within its 267 square miles. A unique landscape of moorland, woodland, valleys and farmland, shaped by people and nature over thousands of years. Where high cliffs plunge into the Bristol Channel, and cosy pubs and tearooms offer delicious local produce.
North Wheddon Farm is nine miles from both the coastal resort of Minehead, the home of the start of the south west coastal path & West somerset railway, and the town of Dulverton, home to the Exmoor National Park Offices. Situated just a few minutes from open moorland where exmoor ponies and red deer roam free and buzzards glide overhead.
We are also close to the picturesque village of Dunster famous for its medieval castle. Porlock Wier on the coast is stunning and a lovely place to sit on a summers evening enjoying some of the local hospitality. Lynton and Lynmouth are interesting to visit with the history of the big flood, a water powered cliff railway and the rugged Valley of the Rocks.
We are in easy reach of Devon's famous beaches, Woolacombe, Ilfracombe, Croyde and Saunton Sands. Wheddon Cross is a thriving rural village with a good community spirit. We are lucky to have a church, school, post office, garage & pub. Being situated in the heart of the moor but with a good road network Wheddon Cross is a perfect location for exploring this spectacular area.
