About the home
Worzel Cottage adjoins Scatterbrook Farm on the borders of Devon and Somerset and is modern and airy accommodation with 2 double bedrooms (an extra bed is available if required). There is a spacious and well equipped kitchen and lounge/diner with a wood burning stove. The property also has central heating. There is a pretty patio area for guest's use during their stay. We are open all year round.
There are excellent walks straight from the cottage and farm along the River Barle to Dulverton and the small Exmoor village of Hawkridge. We offer a peaceful relaxing holiday with excellent views from the farm, lots of wildlife nearby including Exmoor ponies and wild red deer. Lynton and Lynmouth are a must for all visitors also Tarr Steps, Dunkery Beacon, Snowdrop Valley and Selworthy. Exmoor red deer and Exmoor Ponies and lots of wildlife. The country town of Dulverton is just 2 miles from the cottage and has a wealth of traditional and unusual shops for you to explore and find that special gift to take home. This is our fourth visit to what is an area of outstanding, largely unspoilt beauty. So much wildlife (deer / Exmoor ponies/birds).
We will come again and we will definitely stay at Worzel cottage in the future.
Chris & Tess are amazing genuine, hosts - only too happy to help with advice on places to go and things to do (which there really is no shortage of). It is so quiet - the perfect place to unwind and relax.
An authentic (and again very friendly) place for a afternoon tea can be found in Winsford - the Bridge Cottage Tea Rooms : another great Chris & Tess recommendation
In short a stunning environment and a lovely and incredibly friendly place to stay whether for a weekend or longer.

We have visited this property on 2 occasions, and have to say, the owners Chris and Tess, are fantastic, so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble and offered lots of advice on things to see and do whilst on our stay(s). The accommodation is in a wonderful setting, fantastic views. Excellent walking and great for me being a keen photographer.
The beautiful large leaves were still on the magnolia tree which provided a lovely haven for so many colourful birds. I have never been able to watch birds for so long and take excellent photographs.
Most evenings we would sit outside watching the spectacular exmoor sunsets.
Would thoroughly recommend, on price, friendliness, location, views and most of all peace and quiet.
