Our period village house, on the edge of the picturesque village of Exideuil-sur-Vienne, is in the heart of the Charente Limousine.
We've retained the beams and the wooden shutters but added central heating and modern en suite bathrooms.
Staying with us you'll find comfortable bedrooms with private bathrooms. Rooms have TV (French or UK) and a welcome tray for making hot drinks. The sunny terrace is great for sitting out on warm days and the glowing wood burner in the lounge is ideal for the cooler months when you can relax after a day exploring the countryside.
There is an off road area for storage of motorbikes and cycles. We also offer laundry facilities for those with limited luggage space.

About this location
The Poitou-Charentes region
The Charente Limousine is a beautiful area of France with a micro climate that produces plenty of warm sunny days from March through to October and sometimes beyond.
The area borders the foothills of the Massif Central. Here the river Vienne winds through wooded slopes, grassy meadows and picturesque medieval villages. There are chateaux to admire, historic sites to visit and brocantes to browse for those original French bargains. The area also has many natural and manmade lakes making it a very popular area for anglers, water sport enthusiasts, birdwatchers, cyclists and walkers.
Alternatively watch the world go by with a glass of pineau, the regional aperitif. This is the place to visit if you are looking for a slice of traditional, laid back French rural life.
The Charente Limousine is well known for its rolling hills, buttercup filled meadows and rivers. The lakes, manmade and natural, attract walkers, anglers and bird watchers. For all those loving water sports you can enjoy sailing and wind-surfing at the Lacs de Haute Charente. You will also find safe, sandy beaches and children's' swimming areas here.
Within an hour driving distance you can visit the Valley des Singes (Monkey Valley) where 350 primate species roam in semi wild conditions.
There are excellent golf courses nearby and those on two wheels will particularly enjoy the quiet, open roads as they tour the area.
There are historical monuments including the Roman Baths at Chassenon and the Chateau Route of Richard the Lionheart.
Remembering more recent history there are memorials and museums telling the story of the French resistance during World War 2.
We are also close to Cognac where some of the most famous brandy housess like Hennessy, Martell etc. offer guided tours and tastings.
There are so many things to do and see for all the family in the Charente Limousine.
