Home description
This is a beautiful detached house with masses of country character but a modern bright interior. With wooden flooring throughout it has everthing you could want for a luxurious holiday. It makes a great base for a family as it has four good sized bedrooms ( one of which has an en suite) and a large bathroom. Downstairs there is a big comfortable lounge with a log fireplace and 32" LCD T.V, a spacious hall with pool table/football table and a warm kitchen/diner opening onto the garden. Further dining is available in the conservatory. The garden has plenty of room for children to run around and use the TP wooden play equipment.
The house sits off a quiet lane in the unspoilt village of Brampford Speke- surrounded by countryside but only 3 miles from Exeter. A traditional pretty Devon village, with a good pub a short walk from the house. The house is fully equipped, linen and towels are included and beds will be made up on arrival. Garden furniture is available for the warmer months, logs for the colder months and there are even bikes available for the energetic.

The West Country / Devon region
Dartmoor and some of the finest beaches in England. Rural charm and the beauty of historic Exeter. Plenty of fantastic venues for exciting and interesting day trips Some of the best sunshine in the U.K Devon has it all.
Exeter / Brampford Speke area
Brampford Speke is a lovely village located very near Exeter, East Devon. With its rustic charm and stunning surroundings you are sure to find it an ideal relaxing base for a Devonshire holiday . The 368 sq mile Dartmoor National Park, and the beautiful South Devon coast are all within 20 min's drive as are lots of other attractions many of them free. Exeter itself has much to offer from the River Exe to the grandeur of the Cathedral to the slightly spooky Underground passages. It's still a beautiful historic city but is no longer the backwater it once was. The shops and restaurants are excellent and there is a good variety of nightclubs, theatres, cinemas and comedy nights for those that seek them.
Of the many attractions nearby, we particularly recommend Dartmoor and South Devon's beaches. If Dartmoor's supreme natural beauty isn't enough, (and try standing on top of Hay Tor on a clear blustery day if you don't think it is), then it has loads of farms and other attractions where you can bottle feed lambs, meet Dartmoor Ponies or learn about hedgehogs. Of the beaches, our favourites are Exmouth,Dawlish,Teignmouth and Sidmouth. They all offer something different. Sidmouth is full of Olde Worlde Charm and has an internationally renowned folk festival. Dawlish has a fantastic Carnival week with Red Arrow displays and Exmouth and Teignmouth have everything that children want from a seaside resort without being tacky.
There are National Trust properties and country houses aplenty, Killerton and Knighthayes are particularly nice. But when youv'e had enough of dashing around why not spend some time in the village. A stroll from your holiday home takes you to the banks of the river Exe to a spot which locals call "the beach" where you can wade through clear waters to catch little fish in jam jars as people have done since before our grandparents. You could stop at the village tea shop for a Devon Cream tea on your way home or save your appetite for a meal at the village pub, which serves excellent food and local ales and is less than a five-minute walk from the house. Alternatively a half hour country walk will take you to the AA *** restaurant in the nearby village of Huxham. And if you fancy something different, there are two inexpensive riding schools very close.
We could go on but suffice to say , you will not be bored!
