Home description
This cottage is part of an old farmhouse including the owners' house, ancient barns, a pool house, an ancient oven. The property dates from the 17th/18th century and is situated 2 km from the small market-town of Excideuil, 35 mn from Périgueux and Lascaux, 50mn from Sarlat and an hour from the Dordogne Valley.
The area is peaceful with a nice view on the countryside. The house of 140sq/m is fully equipped and has been completely renovated in 2008, with a big shared heated swimming pool.
The pool house contains a 5 -seat Jacuzzi. The house has central heating and air conditioning (provided by a heat pump system).

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region
Périgord or Dordogne, also known as " Pays de l'Homme" or " Cradle of Man" is worldly renowned for its decorated caves such as Lascaux, its numerous castles on the Dordogne river ,once a frontier between French and English territories, its picturesque cities such as Sarlat, Bergerac, Brantôme, Périgueux with their medieval and Renaissance architectures.

Excideuil / Saint Medard area
Excideuil is a little market-town located in North-East Dordogne, 35km from Périgueux, 50 km from Limoges and 60km from Brive. It boasts a medieval castle and it is set in the middle of " Périgord Vert" which offers many hiking and walking possibilities.
There are many picturesque villages and cities all around , plenty of castles and caves to visit nearby. There is a cinema and a market every Thursday, local shops and a supermarket. In the summer, quite a few festivals are organised for visitors and locals alike.
How to get there
Fly to Limoges or Bergerac with Ryan air and hire a car from the airport, an hour's drive from Limoges, an hour and a quarter from Bergerac.

The swimming pool and the Jacuzzi are shared with the owner. The swimming pool is heated from May to October. Smoking is not allowed inside the house and the pool-house, only outside on the terraces. The Jacuzzi room is heated during the winter. Owners speak fluent English. Welcome Pack on arrival.
