Home description

This cottage is part of an old farmhouse including the owners'house and another gite, ancient barns, a pool house, an ancient oven. The property dates from the 17th/18th century and is situated 2 km from the small market-town of Excideuil, 35 mn from Périgueux and Lascaux, 50mn from Sarlat and an hour from the Dordogne Valley. The area is peaceful with a nice view on the countryside. The house of 200sq/m is fully equipped and has been completely renovated in 2007, with a big shared heated swimming pool. The pool house contains a 5 -seat jacuzzi. The house has central heating and air conditionning (provided by a geothermic system)

Excideuil / Saint Medard area

Excideuil is a little market-town located in North-East Dordogne, 35km from Périgueux, 50 km from Limoges and 60km from Brive. It boasts a medieval castle and it is set in the middle of " Périgord Vert" which offers many hiking and walking possibilities. There are many picturesque villages and cities all around , plenty of castles and caves to visit nearby. There is a cinema and a market every Thursday, local shops and a supermarket. In the summer, quite a few festivals are organised for visitors and locals alike.

How to get there

Fly to Limoges or Bergerac with Ryanair and hire a car from the airport, an hour's drive from Limoges, an hour and a quarter from Bergerac.
