Considered by many to be the Portuguese Riveira, Estoril and Cascais are full of glamour and charisma. Facing the south the beaches in the estuary of the Tagus offer visitors calm water, fine sand and modern facilities.
Cascais not only has a beautiful sandy beach but is also famous for the Casino and the F1 racing track. The Casino, attracting a lot of people, is said to be the biggest in Europe and sits with a view across the beach and out to sea. The F1 track is located between Cascais and Sintra.
Sintra is a city located about 15 minutes or so from Manique. It is surrounded by mountains, beaches and a lot of forest. It is an old Moorish city, recaptured in 1147, with a lot to see - from the 2 castles on top of the hill, 1 (Castelo dos Mouros) medieval-style stone castle and the other (Palacio de Pena) colourful and unique to the fabulous 'Quinta da Regaleira'. Its cultural landscape is a UNESCO World Heritage, making it one of the most romantic places to see.
Estoril area
Villaggio Manique nestles in the dazzling setting of Cascais, right on the Estoril coast.. It is close to the Sintra Mountain Range and its Natural Park, as well as being very close to extensive gorgeous beaches and is only 25kms (or 20 minutes) from the beauty and culture of cosmopolitan Lisbon.
Considered some of the best in Europe, golf in this area are a major attraction for golfers and the following courses are within close reach:
Lisbon Sports Club - although short in overall length there are many tricky holes where local knowledge is a bonus and wayward shots are usually severely punished.
Belas Clube de Campo - this Roquemore designed course is a championship class course with fairways through undulating terrain in hills west of Lisbon. Estoril - the closest to Manique and well known for its hosting of the Portuguese Open 19 times.
Quinta da Beloura - opened in 1994 the course is laid out in gently undulated terrain between Sintra and Estoril, roughly 10-20 minutes drive from Manique.Academia de Golfe Estoril-Sol - run by a former Portuguese Golf Federation teaching pro the academy offers a range of tuition options.
Penha Longa Golf Resort - enjoying majestic views over Estoril and Cascais towards the ocean it has been the venue of many prestige events, including 2 Portuguese Opens, and is within 10 - 20 minutes of Manique. Quinta da Marinha - near the coast, just west of Cascais, and only 10 - 20 minutes from Manique.
A privileged location for watersports, from the most radical to the most sophisticated, the Costa do Estoril offers unique conditions for sea lovers, with high quality facilities including the modern Cascais Marina. One of the particular attractions of the Costa do Estoril is its numerous restaurants.
Estoril has a wide range of facilities for all sportsmen and women. The Autodromo do Estoril, the most important race track in the country, hosts spectacular national and international races.
For tennis enthusiasts the yearly Estoril Open (one of the most popular international tennis tournaments in Portugal) is only 5 minutes from Villaggio Manique. The unconfirmed dates for 2008 are 1st April - 31 May 2008.
How to get there
Lisbon is the nearest airport and between a 20 -30 minute drive from Villaggio Manique in good traffic. The best airlines to look at are Monarch, Easy Jet and TAP Portugal which I have found give you the best rates and the most frequent flights.
Car rental companies are everywhere in Lisbon airport and so far the best tried and tested is Europcar who seem to do a good rate and also it's a quicker process to pick up and drop off the car. Make sure you fill up the car before you give it back - the car rental fuel rates are ridiculous! As you are coming into Lisbon on the main A5 motorway there is a petrol station which seems to be the cheapest on the road to the airport.
Please note, toll charges apply on the A5 (currently 1 euro 15).
Directions to Manique are simple - from Lisbon Airport take the 2nd Circular traveling West and join the A5 toward Cascais/Estoril. After the toll take the turning to Manique/Bicesse and keep following the signs to Manique. Villaggio Manique is on the outskirts of Manique - more detailed directions are sent to you after you've booked.

Further details indoors: The sitting room, bedrooms and hallway has wooden floors throughout whilst the kitchen and bathroom has a mixture of marble walls, floors and surfaces and wooden cabinets.
The kitchen is fully equipped with integrated appliances and there is access to a lovely roof terrace - great for breakfast in the sunshine. Internally the furnishings are of very high quality and it is used by the family several times throughout the year so has a lovely home from home feel.
Both bedrooms are large doubles with built in wardrobes. All windows have shutters which can be locked from the inside and air conditioning is installed in each room.
Further details outdoors: The apartment is on the top floor of a small block of serviced apartment. There is a parking space in the secure underground parking and the flat is accessible directly from the car park either by a lift or the main staircase.
Villaggio Manique is a gated complex with a 24 hour concierge available on site and there is a tennis court and swimming pool for guests to use.
The condominium has urbanised areas, with paved roads, roundabouts, gardens and squares where children can roam and play.

The remaining balance is due 8 weeks before your Arrival Date and at this time a £200 security deposit covering any breakages or damages is also due - this amount is refundable and within 28 days of your return, after we have received the full check out report from the property manager, the amount will be returned to you..
Even though we receive a check out report we do ask that renters please let us or our property manager know of any breakages that may happen during your stay. You are given an inventory when you've paid the balance so please take this with you to just check that everything is there.

Conditions
You will be met by the property manager who will be a contact for you throughout your stay. If he is unable to meet you then keys are left with the porter and you will be given all the details of what to do on arrival - they will look after you very well. The property manager will then come to see you as soon as possible to show you the mechanics of the apartment and help answer any questions you have.
High chairs and cot beds can be hired.
