The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
There are lots of fine shops in Marbella and Puerto Banus, also in Sotogrande and of course, there is Gibraltar where you can find all the British shops, banks, etc and the Rock itself is very interesting to explore with gardens, caves and history and magnificent views of the Atlantic and Mediterranean Coast.
Beautiful beaches in Tarifa Coast for paragliding, windsurfing, etc, the newly beach resort "Laguna Village" in "Puro Beach" with lovely boutiques, restaurants, large panoramic swimming pool on the beach,is only 5 to 10 minutes drive, next to the luxurious "Hotel Campinski".
The wonderful "Alhambra" Granada; La "Mezquita de Cordoba". Feria de Sevilla in April and Barrio "Vera Cruz". Malaga Old Town and Castillo and La Feria in August with flamenco dancing and horse back riding in the streets;
Estepona / Costa Galera area
White villages (Pueblos Blancos) in the hills, only about 30 to 60 minutes drive, eat and drink the local dishes and wines and feel real Spanish life! Very reasonable prices. Estepona town is only 5 minutes drive, still remains very Spanish with lots of restaurants and tapas bars and nice open beaches with plenty of beach bars/restaurants. Puerto Banus 20 km; Marbella 30 km; Ronda 60 km; Nerja 140 km; Granada 200 km; Cordoba 240 km; Sevilla 220 km; Jerez de la Frontera 140 km; Cadis 150 km.
Coast/Beach Beaches are across de road and you can walk along the beach to nice bars-restaurants and to Puerto Duquesa 10 minutes walk. The beautiful Atlantic Coast and Tarifa is about 45 minutes drive.
Golf This is Costa de Golf, Golf Paradise. There are more than 30 golf courses nearby, nearest one and only a year old," Finca El Cortesin, is only 2 minutes drive," Soto Grande", "Valderrama", "La Reserva" 5 minutes drive, too many to mention.
Tennis clubs also with in 15 minutes drive, Estepona, Soto Grande, San Pedro, horse riding in Estepona "Escuela Equetaria" only 10 minutes away.
How to get there
Malaga Airport 80 km; Gibraltar Airport 45 km; Jerez Airport 140 km; Tarifa about 45 minutes where you can take the 15 minutes ferry crossing to Tangier, or the overnight Marrakesh Express to Marrakesh for a few days.
Car hire recommended to explore the mounting villages and beautiful countryside.
