Duquesa waterfront hosts restaurants and bars, above which are apartments looking out over the yachts. The port is flanked by two very long, sandy beaches with their own beach bars. One beach stretches to the left as far as Sabinillas, the other winds round the coast to Sotogrande.
Clinging to the side of a rocky gorge lies the old village of Casares. This is one of those places that can be termed a "hanging village", as it is suspended on the mountainside 435 metres above sea level. During the Roman Empire Casares was allowed to mint its own coins, an honour granted by the emperor in gratitude for the curing of a skin disease after bathing in the village’s sulphuric
and alkaline waters.
Gibraltar is connected to Spain and a ferry ride away from Morocco. The subject of repeated conquest and sieges, Gibraltar has been a British Territory since 1704. Since 1973 it is a part of the EU under the British treaty of accession. The economy has its base in Offshore finance, shipping, tourism and the Internet. Tourists come to learn about its military past and to see the famous apes.
Casares is a picture postcard pueblo blanco (white village) with a population of just three thousand.
The Costa del Sol development is situated just a few minutes walk from the beach, the coastline offers some of the best and cleanest unspoilt beaches. Quality golfing is in abundance including the famous Sotogrande, San Roque and Valderrama (home to the 1997 Ryder Cup) courses. The nearby ports of Duquesa, Estepona, Banus and Sotogrande provide the perfect backdrop for a leisurely drink or lunch.

"'Luxury' - not"
Usually I do an extensive search before booking a holiday so I only have my self to blame. Don't get me wrong - Cesares Del Sol complex was lovely if you like total quiet with no local attraction… More
Thanks for your feedback, I have just instructed my managing agent to upgrade as per your feedback. I was unaware of the linen and shower issues, we have recently upgraded the lounge furniture. I will investigate TV options and past times, as the property has Wifi I thought that would provide a TV solution for most travellers with a tablet or laptop. When I have been to the property I easily walked to local restaurants (but I guess this is all about how far people are happy walking). Finally the photos are of my apartment when it was first purchased 6 years ago. Your feedback is appreciated as without it I would not have been aware of most of this. Kind regards Chris
